Default In-game venue for guid recruiting

Is there an accepted venue in-game for advertizing that a guild is recruiting? I have seen people be chided for posting it in the Advice or Trade channels. Is it acceptable to put it in General chat?

I would say the least intrusive way to recruit would be to put up an LFM for all level ranges.

Don't pick a quest but just put in the notes that your guild is recruiting.

I have seen those several times. Having said that I don't know how well that works personally but take it for what it is.

If you are going to "advertise" in chat then I would stay to keep it in General or Advice and don't post it more than say once a minute maybe once every 2.

For sure if you want to avoid all the "spam cops" then I would make sure that your last message has at least 8 to 10 other messages after it before you send the next one.

    Good luck!

    Default Um...

I used Scout's idea and advertised my lowlevel guild in the LFM panel. Someone /told me that it isn't allowed. So what's the case?

Well, I tried it yesterday and no one yelled at me. Additionally, it generated some recruits.

Using the LFM panel for anything other than group forming is not allowed, and anyone can report you for doing otherwise.

Nearly everyone I have run with as a result of an LFM is already in a guild. Unless I hear that they want to change to a new guild, there is no point in trying to invite them into my guild.

I did not know that. Thanks for telling me before I got into trouble.
