My personal pet hate is the abbreviation DC. It stands for Difficulty Class, not difficulty check.
"make a DC 20 fortitude save" means "make a fortitude save for which the difficulty is classed at 20". Difficulty check makes no sense.

Monster manual listing is here! => DDO Monster Manual
The Saves mouseover text on the character sheet says "difficulty check". On the other hand in D&D DC standsd for "difficulty class", which, like you said, makes more sense.
Let's be generous and say the devs didn't mess it up but sneaked it in to be able to tell the difference between those who know pnp D&D and those who don't.
Edit: On topic:
then/than
there/their/they're
Not necessarily DDO related, but I've seen this quite a few times here in the forums.

Being a european player, and englishman infact, I have to say this game is choc full of spelling errors from my perspective.
Armor -> Armour.
Color -> Colour.
In all fairness, given that codemasters used to take 2 weeks to do the EU translations and we had even more string table errors than motu at launch I can cope with some one stealing my u's and madly replacing perfectly good s's with z's.
Ex Euro player from devourer: Charaters on orien(Officer of Under Estimated & Nightfox): Wrothgar, Cobolt, Shadeweaver, TheMetal, Metaphysical, Allfred, Razortusk and many more.
stuff by me: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php...02#post4938302
seems Turbine has a bad habit of misspelling: More Bugs,
each and every time the spell it: Update.![]()
Sahuagin
(lol you're looking at it and still not sure if its spelled right)
"Than" spelt as "then".
A lion is bigger THAN a pussycat. This means a lion is bigger when compared to a pussycat. Conveys information.
A lion is bigger THEN a pussycat. This means the lion is bigger and sometime later a pussycat. Nonsense.
AAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH!! I hates it!!!!
He left the name, at which the world grew pale.
The one that really kills me is;
per say
ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!!
I dunno why, for me it is even worse than rouge....
Teh. Meh.

Don't worry, there's Canadians on this side of the pond that spell correctly, and we're slowly wearing down our American counterparts.
For example, my guildies hardly even make fun of me anymore when I check out the colour of my new armour kit with my neighbours in the harbour.
Argonessen: Mortal Voyage Permadeath Guild
Ghallanda: Friends Of Nice And Slow
Favor instead of the correct Favour
Armor instead of the correct Armour
Harbor instead of the correct Harbour

That said, there's been several occasions when I've accidentally typed qwuest...
Cannith: Yasina, Sarasina, Discarra
"Duel" wielding.
This is a little off topic, but I think it needs to be said.
LEARN YOUR HELPING VERBS, PEOPLE!
I saw. I have seen.
"I seen it," just makes you sound like a dumbass.
I never say anything when I see it on the forums or in game because I don't want to be THAT person, but everytime, I die a little inside.

When asked, "What are we going to do tonight?" the only acceptable answer is, "The same thing we do every night...Try to take over the world!"
Sarlona - Auralana, Orcalana, JuicyLucy, Aquani, Wistia, Aurabella, Guildy, etc. If you see the last name Hather, it's either me or the hubby.
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.
It just drives me mad when people mis-spell it. I mean, its a computer game, you would of thought everyone would practice perfect grammar and spelling at all times! Its shocking.
Yoof of today!!!!
Thats true, some more differences
