    Default Combat Archery

Wasn't sure where to post this but seeing as this forum includes 3 pew pew classes (Arties, Rangers and Mechanics), I thought it would be the best bet.

Can anyone confirm if Combat Archery works now? It doesn't seem to add any damage on my repeater, it's listed in the Master List of All Things Broken in U14 and I haven't seen it mentioned in any known issues or release notes since so I assume it doesn't work but I thought I'd check with others before I swap it out for something else.

    Thanks a lot.

Well, seeing as nobody replied, I had to resort to doing some testing myself. :P

I tested this on the Training Dummy using a Calomel Heavy Repeating Crossbow which has a base damage of 1d10. I only recorded the base piercing damage from close-up and then from distance so that the Point Blank/Combat Archery damage wouldn't apply. The difference in average damage was 5.6 points, almost exactly the average value on a 1d10. So unless I missed something, it's pretty clear that shooting things from close-up only adds +1W from Point Blank and the additional +1W from Combat Archery isn't applied.

I've submitted a bug report and I'm on my way to Fred to swap the feat out.

I guess while you're at it, you could also test with some random bow if it's only a crossbow thing or thorough borkage

Edit: Also, the feat could be borked in a good way, granting you +1 W constantly, not only in PB range. I say, test some more!

It's not "good borkage" because I just do the same damage that I did with Point Blank on before Combat Archery was in the game. So I'm fairly sure Combat Archery just doesn't do anything at all.

I've given up on the feat now, which is a shame because an extra 5.5 base damage would be neat. I'm a mechanic so I just took Improved Sneak Attack instead which was a good alternative.
Hopefully enough Arcane Archers, for whom Combat Archery is more beneficial, will notice this and get the devs to fix it.

I've noticed it on my arcane archer, as well. I haven't swapped the feat out, yet. I'm rather hoping they'll eventually fix it, but I am also not holding my breath. Guess I've just been too lazy to swap it out, but I've been very disappointed to see that it isn't doing anything for me.

It does not give the +1[W].

Several threads about it in the forums here.
