a rant

So i went from school to full time + few classes. my playtime has been cut to a mere fraction of what it once was. As such i do value my playtime quite a bit more than i used to. Tonight I got smacked pretty hard with paying for the new content to spend all my gaming time tonight (and maybe for the next few days/week) struggling to get completions with the bugs. I ran outbreak 3 times on epic elite only to have it bug all 3 times after completing all objectives. A few weeks ago I was able to spend some time with DDO and ran the expansion raid twice, the never ending never complete thing snagged me both times and killed that whole night of gaming. I paid 70$ for that nice content.

is the code really that borked we cant just get clean release content? whats causing such poor code? do you guys realize that other games dont come close to this poor of quality control?

PS im pretty ****ed, and wondering why im paying (and burning hours of my life) for content thats so fakkin bugged. seriously

Update 14 and beyond=huge stinky turds. However you may notice the store is chock full of stuff to buy...tomes of fate, yellow dopant, raid timer by passes, etc....nothing gets fixed it gets bandaided which more often than not makes things worse. What it looks like to me is a sinking ship...thats gonna yank down as much of the player bases cash as it can with it. WB prolly said sinking ship...heres the plan...milk em milk em hard raw and dirty. The game has had its lows and broken quests in the past. However the state of the game right now is complete and utter junk. Im probably wrong but totally smell a last ditch milk job taking place

why would a sinking game go out and hire a bunch of new devs, organise an agreement with wotc (and if things were so bad why did they agree) to use their fan fav world and then create as much content/change as they have recently.

that said these last 2 updates have been awful and pretty embarasing, quests going live with a notice saying its broken even before its up for example

just a point but they were planning this update a year ago, it was getting solid by last December.... People they employed and agreements they made could be very different now.

Seriously mate, I couldn't disagree more. The increase in new staff was +50% according to one of Majmalphunction's "end of the week" posts, and I can't imagine this is short term contract work. Turbine's recruitment page is always chock-full, and if you look beyond the bugs (none of which are "game-breaking" IMO) then there is some absolutely fantastic content. Have you looked around in the Underdark? Been to Schindllryin? Have you ran belly of the beast?

And as for the 'no other MMO's are this buggy' comment? Seriously. Talk to some WoW players. The only reason they 'appear' to have less bugs is because the players don't have this huge sense of marriage/entitlement/dev transparency complex.

If you're all that mad and think the grass is greener elsewhere then perhaps it's time to jump the fence and see.

I think in general the quality of games is crazy looks lately take for example skyrim, or fallout 3 games were completely full of bugs hell, skyrim bugged so bad you couldn't finish the main quest line.

It's just really sad...

The game is in a pretty bad state atm, old quests broken, new quests broken, bugs everywhere, btc on acquire on stuff that shouldn't be, challenges broken for xp and ingredients, mobs still moving like crazy when cc'd, new raid loot is pretty boring, epic destinies borked, feats broken...

Could go on but what's the point...

yeah Ive been to Schynblanblim, ran around the underdark..and yes done belly of the beast many times on all difficulties. They are ok and I have no complaints there. Its the rest of the game...(for myself) mainly broken feats/Epic Destinies and broken quests that fail to complete on no part the players lack of ability but rather the coders lack of ability to code. Its pretty bad...granted I was well at my fed up lvl when I posted (had just completed EE Outbreak but quest bugged and wouldnt give completion) As for turbines HR/staffing lvls ive no clue what goes on there. My only interaction with the company is through its game which I have sadly been addicted to for 6 years and 3 months. And to be honest the way things have been unfolding lately my spidy sense is kinda goin off. Im not gonna write 3 more badly constructed paragraphs outlining the huge brokeness of the game as most are already aware and have read 300 or more posts saying the same thing. Anyhow, when content is released like this 2 times in a row...somethings gotta be wrong internally I cant think of any other reason a "respectable" company would let half of the mistakes go live. It just makes no sense to me. Also this thread was titled a rant. Therefore I ranted. Is it right, wrong, fact or fiction..who cares...its a rant

I think what you've hinted at there is a real truth. If you're addicted to the game, as many of us are then it's painful if things are broken.

You know how i feel reck..its hard to kik something youve been on for so long but at some point to much is to much. I would love to rant with you but just dont care enough anymore to do it. I want to care but with all the .... i just cant anymore. Good luck buddy hope u find what your looking for gaming wise.
