Default I was never really a DDO penny pincher but...

I decided to try something just to see if it added up in the long run. I dont know about you all but I tend to get **** loot. A lot of times I get a box of rocks in an end chest so I decided to start hoarding the 500gp gems that dropped, i think there are seven of them; jacinth, star ruby, diamond, blue diamond, yellow diamond, rose diamond, star sapphire. I got a medium gem bag that holds 12/1000 about 6 months ago ( i consider myself an above casual gamer). Today i just checked and i have a bag value of ~700k pp. It is comprised of an average of 200 of each gem type. I have plenty of pp across my toons so im not using this for subsidizing anything but i thought that I would pass it on to those that are new to the game.

*edit* I know all this depends on haggle when you go to sell them but wait you know what? Now that Im thinkin about it. Im tired of having to make a post that is so delineated and defined. i came back in here to post the edit thinking that i was gonna get torn apart because of missing the 'disclaimer' of haggle. Boy do these forums got me trained. I find it kinda sad actually.

I find it kinda sad that some people don't loot their gems. Large gem bags are usually dirt cheap on the AH and if you save em up you can get some good coin.

How does the frequency that you sell the gems at affect the return on the investment? I looted a large gem bag and have since started hoarding them just for fun, certainly not because I think I'll get more pp.

Frequency doesn't matter on the sale price of course. It's the volume you can sell at one time that makes the big numbers.

I believe it's still the Harbor Vendors after you have completed Waterworks.
