    Default Paralyzed by the Map

Does anyone else have the problem that, when you pop up the map, you need to click outside the map multiple times (5 or more) before using the attack button will actually allow you to swing a weapon?

Not sure if this is my system (though it happens on both of my machines running different OS's). Current size of the map does not effect the issue one way or another - frequency of occurrence is "always."

Very annoying: consulting the map, suddenly attacked, and unable to fight back without a bit of "button mashing."

I've done a few forum searches on this but can't find a similar post.

    Is it just me?

Close the map, then try fighting? The map takes up so much space on my screen when it's open that I always close it when fighting monsters, otherwise I can't see what I'm fighting.

^Pretty much what I do. Pressing "M" takes but a fraction of a second. Then again, I generally consult the map when not likely to encounter a mob while it's open.

True, but more of a work-around than a solution and still an extra keystroke from attacking. Also somewhat of a penalty to those of us with very large displays (though I share your problem when I'm gaming on my notebook).

I have it, but only difference from what you describe is frequency of occurrence... for me it's about 70% of the time. No idea what makes it happen only that frequently; and that might be skewed by the fact I only bring the map up for a second or two and then back down while running through the quest. With the exception of the occasional Blown to Bits when multiple people are laying charges.

There is an option in the UI portion of the options list that will allow you to attack while your mouse cursor is over an UI element.

Not sure exactly what it is called off the top of my head though. Something like 'attack while over UI'.

You need to keymap it to something. I myself just mapped it right over my standard mouse button that way I don't have to worry about where my cursor happens to be, because wherever it is I can still swing.

    Hope that helps
