Well, you'd probably want to go Mechanic, then. They get free proficiency with light and heavy repeating crossbows.
My L25 rogue was built like this to start (32 point build):
Strength: 12
Dexterity: 16
Constitution: 16
Intelligence: 16
Wisdom: 8
Charisma: 8
Feats (the ones I remember off the top of my head):
Weapon Finesse
Toughness
Precision
Opportunist
Two Weapon Fighting
Improved Two Weapon Fighting
Greater Two Weapon Fighting
Improved Critical: Piercing
I put all level ups into Intelligence, with a +2 tome on all stats. This is the YourDDO link for him:

His green steel gloves are triple air for the haste/knockdown guard, +45 hp, haste clicky, and +6 exceptional bonus to dexterity skills. Those are cleansed. He has two sets of green steel goggles. One is Concordant Opposition, with +5 exceptional bonus to charisma skills. The other is only at tier 2 and is intended to be triple negative (blindness, disease, poison, fear immunity, slay living guard), but it lacks the guard because he doesn't wear it often and I've had more important things to do with my large ingredients.
I will say this: I changed him over from Mechanic to Assassin after the expansion came out and I am having a lot more fun with him now. He has weapon finesse and doesn't have trouble hitting with a 28 dex, except against Malicia in Epic Big Top. I still carry a stack of 50 scrolls of Tenser's Transformation just for her.
His fortification bypass is 35% when not in Shadowdancer epic destiny. While in SD, his fortification bypass goes up to 50%. When he has his twists done, it'll be 60% (Piercing Clarity from Grandmaster of Flowers). Against constructs, his fortification bypass is another 30% higher due to Wrack Construct 3 (yes, I invested in Improved Disable Device 4, in spite [or because] of being an Assassin). When I finally get his Epic Blasting Chime, he'll have 110% fortification bypass against constructs and 60% against everything else. This does mean I get to sneak attack undead quite often.
There are a huge number of quests that have absolutely no traps in them. Additionally, a traditional Assassin build can disarm them literally just as well as a full-out trapper build, because 100% success is 100% success. In short, you are limiting yourself a great deal by placing paramount importance on them.
Further, your goals would almost certainly be better met by an Artificer build. They are just as good at disarming traps and are dramatically better with ranged weapons and party buffs.
The above is meant as food for thought.
