Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I tested out the actual effect of tumbling and wanted to share the outcome as it might be useful to some.
Edit: Ok it seems that when I use the search engine I don't get any results so I look into stuff myself and then later I find there is info on it after all, mrcow has put some things on the compendium which include the tumble distance. They are roughly the same numbers though, so in the least this will back up his numbers.
wiki data, for reference:
<1 Hops only - no tumble
1 Roll a somersault in that direction
10 Backward rolls will be about even with the run speed of Haste
31 Back flips and sideways dives
35 Forward rolls will be about even with the run speed of Haste
36 Forward dive
The part I did was seeing how much distance tumble gives and if it is per level or milestone.
Tumble level:
15
Sideways distance: 3.84M
Front distance: 4.01M
Backward distance: 4.01
30
Sideways distance: 3.84M
Front distance: 4.01
Backward distance: 4.01
40
Sideways distance: 5.83M
Front distance: 5.8M
Backward distance: 5.28M
*note, there is an error margin of 10centimeters in these numbers.
Summing up my outcomes:
- Tumbling distance only increases at milestones and not per level since distance did not change between 15 and 30 tumble.
- Run speed does not affect distance
- Ground level does affect distance, tumbling goes faster down a slope then up a slope.
- Tumble does get faster per level by a small amount of time.
