    Default There is an error in XML document (1, 2630).

    I have been trying to log on to DDO. When I double click the shortcut on my desktop all I get is the loading screen saying: "There is an error in XML document (1, 2630)." Then after the timer elapses, it gets stuck on examine game data.

    But I don't think its the same issue.

    I am all ears to fix this problem. Or rather eyes.

    That error sounds like a .XML file somewhere is corrupted. My "guess" is that its either the Launcher's XML file or something with .Net. The first part of that article, where it suggests deleting he Launchersettings.XML (did I remember the name right?) is worth doing - and then try and restart the client and see if that fixes the problem. After that I guess it would be time to uninstall/reinstall .NET 1.1 and the .NET SP 1.1 (the 'hotfix"), then submit a technical support ticket via http://support.turbine.com.

    I assume things were fine until very recently.
    What Windows operating system are you running?

    It also never hurts to run a spyware/malware checker just for good measure.
