I don't mind skin.. I do mind Barbarians not being able to just wear loincloth and cape like barbarians should!

Really the skin or no skin options are there, just checked kits for my drow female and more than not are full armor or cloth.
It's a nice change sometimes.. We just need more furry armors!

The probably wouldn't, but I wasn't saying that DDO should rip off Skyrim, I was just giving examples of styles that were 1) Drow/spider themed and 2) look cooler than the boy shorts (IMO). Turbine could do something in a similar style that wasn't just copying and I'd be a thousand times more likely to buy it than I would the current spider look

The only requests in the thread are for less silly shoulder guards and more kits that aren't halters and garter belts. Having more choices does not impact those who love showing their belly button. There are plenty of choices for you, and the rest of us just want pretty things too.
I was just responding to somebody asking for more women's PoV on the topic of skimpy armor. ^_^
And I'm definitely one of the women who supports it, but also would like to see more choice for those who don't like it. With the note that some women really hate chainmail bikinis, and it's becomea topic that no whether you like it or not, or whatever gender you are... somebody is going to give you flak for it.

It seems kind of funny/odd that the combination of pdk kits and drow kits are similar when it seems like they could well hit both sides of the equation.

As covered previously the drow are fairly well known for intricate and revealing garments (see above, then things like baldur's gate, the console action baldur's gate, etc. etc.)

and the Purple Dragon Knights out and about tend to be armored and one would assume ornately armored as they are from a knightly order.

Maybe a subsequent way forward in the future to use faction offset to mark a style offset.

EXACTLY what I was getting at, only I think you said it better It would be awesome if they went that way with the armor kits.

Just to show there are a few bellydancing men's armor kits, I give you the Bull kit in blue:

He's got passion in his pants and he's not afraid to show it.

Took a while because he doesn't really play anymore, but he did indeed wear this armor kit for most of the third life on this toon.

The problem I have is that the Armor really doesn't look drowish or spiderish. Skimpy, yes. But if I simply saw a picture of it and two other armor types I don't know if I'd pick it as spider if I hadn't seen it before.

Next, I don't know how many of you know nice looking women, but unless they are prudish, married or at a church, they like to show off a bit.

Guess jeans. Skin tight and low rise. See through tops are not uncommon. (With bra underneath of course.) All swimsuits are skimpy two piece. Miniskirts. I could go on and on.

In fact, it's quite opposite from what people have said, the more male-dominated a culture is, the more likely women will be required to cover up.

The biggest theme I'm getting from this thread is people want the *choice* between scantily clad and armored head to toe. My own tastes fall somewhere in between functional and looking cool, but I can also appreciate the fact that people do want their barbarians running around all Conan style in just a loin cloth and whatnot.

I would really like to see leather armors that look like... well... leather instead of belly dancing outfits or lopsided humanoid flip top lighters. xD

Its really funny how little the popular vision of Conan actually resembles the Conan of REH's stories. Queen of the Black Coast introduces Conan as a "mailed figure on a black steed," while The Scarlet Citadel has him recognized by his foes as a "giant figure in black, gilted armor," and so on. The few times he's running around in loin cloth or the like is when he's just escaped prison or something similar.

Not really on topic, of course. Just amusing.

Chiming in here as another female player, though most of my toons are male. I was so excited to read about three new armor kits coming out, but having seen that all the meshes include the car bumper shoulders, I am very disappointed. I don't quite understand why all the newer meshes have these...is it a plot by Lolth to reduce anything resembling visibility during combat for Eberron's warriors? The old stock armor meshes were fine, shoulder-wise. Sure, we can buy the meshless version of the kit, but then we're running around in a flight suit.

That said, on to the thread topic--my other female friends that play and I are constantly giggling at the skankariffic kits for female toons because they are so over the top. I agree with many of the other posters in this thread--I want skanky revealing armor for my male toons! Love the blue Bull look on the purple-haired fellow posted earlier, but that's so very mild, I mean we'd run out of spaces to tuck silvers into after only a short time compared to the massive leg/chest/belly/back/things-your-mom-would-disapprove-of showing female armor kits. It's not fair. Either give us the option to put a catsuit on under our female armors, or give us some REALLY skeezy male stripper costumes too, or both would be extra yay.

And now, commenting as a virtual wallet...I purchase a LOT of armor kits because yes, half of why I play this game is for dress-up, and I like my toons to look the way I want them to look, and you know what? NONE of the armor kits I ever buy are the newer ones. Devs, take a hard look at this, please. Something changed, and it was not a good change. I want to spend more money on armor kits (because let's face it, some of the needful gear is just plain fugly), but I will not buy car bumper shoulders, and I will not dress up my Silver Flame cleric as a streetwalker. More choices, please!!

XD True true, but Frazetta just made him look so amazing on those book covers that it's where most mental imagery of Conan winds up.

+1 rep for that! XD Oh man, I love the image of Lolth sitting in the demon web yelling at her personal armor designers like a sterotypical villan. "No no, the shoulder plates must be BIGGER, they should be so top heavy that my swimsuit wearing priestesses can easily defeat them! Muah ha ha ha!" Then she kicks her minions out into the world to try and start a fashion trend... of awkward sized shoulder plates. lol

Does no one remember what a Spider kisser's armor actually looks like... how they are written and described? For the women the Priestesses HARDLY wear ANYTHING at all. These Kits are very tame... compared to other games and what those in the Underdark wear in the novels and D&D minds of those that play them... this is no worse or better than the past kits... I am still waiting for the Inspired Quarter Bikini kits because those are racy. and I am actually a female so :P to all.

Edit: Seeing that most of my Toons are Drow.... I want them in the spider Bikinis cause I like it...

Oh yes that would be wonderful but I think that the Drow (Spider) Kits should be Racy, More Spidery... and pretty much like what the Priestess/Warriors are in, they made it for the enemies why can't we look that fantastic too!!!! without the Giant Shoulder pads.

Edit: I request a Priestess Kit so that my smexeh Drow Air Savant can look just as fantastic as the Priestesses!!!! I actually look for the most racy ones for my drow... the most evil and fully covered for my Pally (Beast Purple or Teal 2 Fully geared and mean looking with all the skulls Love it!!!) AND the prettiest one for my Elf Favored Soul she is in the Blue Bull one without all the additions.... :P

Oh definitely! I mean, this is Forgotten Realms where Greenwood had many descriptions of characters dressed in skimpy clothing. Heck, Storm Silverhand was said to walk around in the nude quite frequently. ^_^ (or was it Dove?) Before 3rd ed FR had some pretty fantasy, skimpy clothing... nevermind just the drow.

You may want spidery things for your Lolthites, but I want gauzy things for my Eilistraeeans. Generally, I want both skimpier, and more clothed, options out there... for male and female. And the HAIR!! OMG, there are so many wonderful new hairstyles on the drow in FR, why don't we have that option?

But have you seen the.. I think it's mountain breastplate? It looks silly on most men since it's pretty much a swimsuit with the sides cut off and a breastplate, but wow I love it on my chainmail bikini lovin' drow.
(One of my friends has a soul stealing one, and he calls it his 'soulstealing crotch' since it nearly looks like a codpiece and breastplate on him. lol )

I saw the first picture and i really liked that. but when i went to ddo store, there were multiple cosmetic outfits/armor with pdk in name. Please clarify for the first time, which one in ddo store that is, or where it can obtained. Thanks in advance.

You necro'd a 10 year old thread, dude. Armor kits don't exist any more, only cosmetic armor.
