Skanky or not, you know what would help me actually be a LOT more inclinded to buy them?
SCREW BEING REGULATED TO ARMOR TYPE! This is fantasy and I'm spending $$$$. If I want to display a full plate look while running around in a robe, let me.
It is called a "cosmetic" after all.
By all means still call them heavy, robe, light, or what have you. That makes it easier to name classify. But let ME CHOOSE what is displayed. Fantasy setting and my $$$$.
Better yet, pull in LOTROs cosmetic closet. Then I promise you I'd probably lose a lot of cash to looks.
I'm a man, and my mind doesn't work the same way as some of the ladies playing the game.
I'm not being sexist, but I think none of this should get attention.
If you don't like the armour kit don't buy them, 95% of the armours/Robes/outfits as far as i know fit the criterias you are asking for BEFORE adding any armour kit. But that's just me.
That being said ..turbine can go back to fixing bugs and making the game/quests more enjoyable that way.. I mean err.. create new pet (lag enhancers) of course!
Girls aren't the only players who like to dress up their virtual dolls and I doubt the same resources designing cosmetic skins are the ones also working on bugs.
This thread isn't about resource allocation, it is about product design. I think the new colors are meh, the garters are hmmm, and they could still stand to show more skin.
I would like a range of choices from Malicia ****iness to Joan of Arc gender neutral. But the mismatched boots/cuffs/gloves/shoulder pads theme is worn out and lame.
Was hoping to see kits like the drow priestess (robe), boss from defending eveningstar (light), the red label lady in in the belly of the beast (medium), Dun Robar Matron (Heavy)
Then equivalents for men such as boss in rusted blades.
Indeed.
I assume you mean dev attention. There's nothing sexist about it one way or the other- they will keep making armor kits because they generate income. A thread expressing what we'd like to see doesn't increase or decrease the resources devoted to purchasable armor kits.
Exactly. We don't buy them. We wear the boring stock stuff because we don't find anything worth spending money on. This is what is called a business opportunity. Making more money=game developers get paid. This is good.
People designing armor kits have absolutely nothing to do with people developing game mechanics or fixing bugs. They don't talk to them in the halls, they don't invite them to lunch, heck the bug fixers don't even get lunch. The graphic designers live on a different plane called Photoshopitopia and never ever interact with the duct-tape glasses guys with the short pants over in engineering.
You have nothing to worry about.
If we actually do get some awesome female armor kits, it will not be because Turbine decided to make pretty dress-up clothes and instead of fixing the slip-sliding mobs.
Now, if you want to complain that stylish and classy female armor kits take time away from designing more bikinis, bustiers and garter belts, you have a valid argument.
Yeah, put me down for "I have no problem with the skimpy outfits, but I don't get why *every* kit has to be so skimpy."
They should put out a whole bunch "classic" looks. On my Pally I'd just like a nice shiny full plate look, but all the kits are really fancy and colorful. That's great and all, but sometimes simple what you're looking for.
Gildus, Yhvain, Sabathiel, Einion
Cannith, GOCI
Be Chill, have fun
I'm still voting for skimpy and scandalous MALE versions of the armor kits.
Equal opportunity objectification, Turbine!
Half-elf males /taunt in a loincloth and furry boots. Make. It. Happen.

I bow to your almighty knowledges of things, you just broke all my arguments with valid stuff, I almost feel bad about my post x).
Heck I didn't even know Turbine was seperated this way, I thought it was some sort of teamwork with people leading it for some reason.
**sorry for the double post <.<

I would like to see more opinions from actual women instead of from guys trying to be "politically correct".
My wife actually likes the new skins minus the huge shoulder pads.
Of all the complaint threads in the forums these types are the most silly for obvious reasons lol

In any case, as some have said, it wouldn't be a bad move to give some equivalents across genders. Depending on the degree and application, my eyes might melt though.

This is my thing too.
For a female Drow enchanter I'd go with some sexy-time outfit, no problem.
I just don't want a female fighter with the the very most vulnerable spots left unprotected.
The armors just don't make sense, forget whether they are appropriate.
But I always like realism over super fantasy, if realism is even possible with wizards and dragons running around.
