This is what I want my characters wearing.

Scantily-clad women in chainmail bikinis is one of the SINGLE. BIGGEST. TURNOFFS. for me in an MMO/RPG. Some women don't mind their characters showing a little (or a lot of) skin, and will rock it to their heart's content.. but I'm not one of them, alas.

I wish I could find the link, but there's an image floating around the web of a certain Queen of England(?)'s full plate that I absolutely love. Some feminine detailing around the neckline and such, but otherwise a perfectly normal suit of full plate.

    Edit: I found it!

I think overall the kits are fine and honestly it adds a little change to the game instead of everyone looking the same and if for some reason you don't like it or think it shows to much skin then don't use them ... seems pretty easy honestly

I don't see that anyone in this thread has asked for them to be removed. Or did I miss something?

We are requesting that future development of armor kits include more kits aimed at people who don't want their female toons chopped in half, since the center of the body seems to be the spot you'd most want to protect.

I think we all agree there's money in pole-dancing attire. We'd just like more options for the females who like to go fight stuff instead of shaking their money-makers at sailors down at the Leaky Dingy.

That "leaves in the forest" example has some beautiful motifs in it, but I won't be spending real money to dress my druid up in a garter belt and thigh highs.

Armor kits usually have a "light" and a "heavy" version; just pick one to make a non-booty-shaking version for females.

Probably more than anyone else in the game, women enjoy the dressing up part of it. We don't mind spending money. Give us a reason to spend it.

    Just wanted to say...

Thank you Noir for all the pics! I'm personally quite excited even if a couple of them look ridunculous with the pouldrons (I can't spell that word for the life of me but agree... those are definitely not just shoulder pads).

This. I really like the skin toggle idea and I do spend TPs on armour kits. I don't care if other people want to wear hoochy wear. I would just like more options.

It took me a long time scouring through the robes to find something tolerable to reskin my monk's frozen tunic.

I would like more options for normal looking adventuring clothing and armor. While there are a few selections, the majority seem to go the other way. I like pretty girls as much as the next guy, but I really have a hard time imagining my characters actually crawling through sewers and forest undergrowth in lingerie, much less actually fighting dangerous beasts.

---- On another note, here's how I look at armor:

Light armor: Bare minimums exceptable- Most of the midsection (the area where your ribcage doesn't help much). Actually for a light armor, that's all I really want to see, although depending on the rest of it, cloth may be appropriate in some areas due to the type of armor in a given spot, but skin can be perfectly fine in many areas here, including the legs. They don't have any vital organs in them (while a main artery is there, it's a whole lot tougher to do major damage there than it is to spill or uttery destroy someones innards from below the ribcage).

Medium: Same as above, but more. I want to see some significant upper torso protection, but it doesn't have to be over the top, just something. Some upper leg (outer sides the important area) and and joint protection should be present.

Heavy: Full out torso protection with some sturdy material, preferably shoulders covered. Full arm and leg protection.

Outfit/Robe: Eh, anything can go here. I may not always like it, but I can accept all sorts of things here.

Actually that plate mail is worse than wearing nothing. Any plate that has *any* kind of boob 'impression' in the chest area will crack your solar plexus the very first time you fall.

It's a horrible horrible thing that would *never ever* be put onto real plate by anyone that knows what they are doing. It's one of the reasons when you see images of Joan of Arc she's in non-boob plate.

I know you can get it made that way - but you are just asking for broken ribs and a trip to the ER if you wear it. So no... not sensible plate. If you want reality a female in any armor would look like a guy - because reality is you'd not have a helmet off when actually fighting.

Good thing we are playing a fantasy game where real world rules don't apply though.....

Well, if you want to get all pedantic about it, the reason the few women who actually wore armor and went into battle wore "mens" armor was because there was no such thing as "womens" armor. The armor they wore was the armor of the day fit for their slighter build requirements. Since we have no record of a female warrior culture other than the fabled Amazons (who were rumored to cut off their right breast in order to shoot a bow better), we can't really say what armorers would have developed given the time and inclination. Given the amount of padding needed underneath plate armor to wear it correctly, I don't really see how breast cups would be much of a problem. And there is no such thing as "plate mail". There is mail with plate and plate armor. D&D originally incorrectly listed mail with plate as "plate mail" and didn't include plate armor until much later, calling it "field plate" or "full plate".

While we are at it, since we have animal companions and shapeshifting druids now, we could do with some nice animal armors, even if they were purely cosmetic.

Not true. This is only the case if made very poorly and fit poorly to the wearer. I've built and used armor and helped others build armor, as well as fought alongside and against many others. This is not true unless the said midline impression is too deep for the shape of the armor. If it's made right, this isn't a problem at all. Not saying it needs an large impression or any at all in many cases, but that it can be fine. I know people who have fought in such things and have absolutely no issues with injuries from it (for reference this with people essentially swinging baseballs bats full at you, and many cases with larger numbers of people, many get knocked down, have people fall and step on them, get trampled, etc). This is becomes much less of an issue with less rigid armors also.

I would spend real money on non-skanky armor kits. To date I have not bought any, although I do look through them from time to time.
