    Default Bear-Caster NEEDS Critiquing

I wanted to make a bear (dire-bear) meleer while still retaining ability to heal and use some spells.
I want to use this build with a h-orc:
    This would be 32 pt.

    STR: 17
    DEX: 15
    CON: 12
    INT: 6
    WIS: 15
    CHA: 6

This is all I have so far. What are the bads about this? the goods?

    Thanks in advance.

As a bear, you are a tank/defender rather than a fast-moving striker. As such, your key stats are STR, CON, and WIS. Go 18-20 STR, 14-16 CON, and 14-16 WIS. Any remaining points can be thrown into the stat of your choice, with DEX probably a bit more useful than INT/CHA.

Are you putting such a high Dex for a feat prerequisite? If not, you could survive with it a bit lower. You could probably use a higher Con, and Wis if you can. Remember that all the Bear abilities that have saves are wisdom-based.

Unless you have specific items in mind and calculated, you're generally better off with even numbers in abilities.

I was just about to start a thread similar to this. I freed up a character slot the other night and decided to make a druid for lulz. Probably won't get much playing time right now but since I haven't tried a druid yet, I figured it would be fun to mess around with.

Anyway, I definitely want to be a dwarf and focus on bear form/tanking/DPS. I'll spec my wolf for sneak attack.

    Stats:
    Str 16 (all level ups)
    Dex 10
    Con 18
    Int 8
    Wis 16
    Cha 6

Max Conc, Intimidate, Balance. If I use a +2 tome, put some points into Spot maybe.

Feats are tricky since there are a lot of things a druid wants. My first thought: Aug Summoning, Cleave, Great Cleave, Power Attack, Imp Crit: Blud, Natural Fighting, Toughness. That's 7 right there.

What about splashing 2 levels of fighter? That would grant 2 more much-needed feats and the tactical enhancements synergize nicely with dwarf and druid abilities.

I've read that Shield Mastery and Improved SM grant the PR and double-strike chance while in animal form. If so, 2 fighter levels would allow me to take those.

However, I know Quicken will speed up casting while in animal form and Natural Fighting stacks up to 3 times.

Am I on the right track? Thoughts?
