Default WF - Spell Regen effects

So WF are not able to realise the benefits of things such as Spellsong Vigor?

It's sad, I know. At least the little mana bursts from the bard songs work...

WF do benefit from the mana regen from the vile blasphemy, as well as the regen from the INT yugo pot, but that's about it (besides the various one shot mana clickies of course).

That is actually a bug? I always assumed it was WAI and a disadvantage of the race.

I don't know why it would be WAI -- there's nothing to indicate why that should be so, unless we're talking about "vigor" being an exhaustion-except-in-reverse kind of concept. That's twisting things a bit, though.

On the other hand, someone did once manage to track down a list of types that were explicitly immune to this effect (I can't find the post anymore or I'd link it). Extraplanar constructs and living constructs were both on the list, so it's really anyone's guess.

The funniest thing is that a fix is probably pretty easy.

All they really need to do is add a variation of the effect from the wf tavern pots to the song and it'd work fine.

Probably pop up as Immune on fleshies because that part wouldn't work, but the fleshie version would work fine.

Doesn't say anything about the eardweller larvae as being WAI, but the spellsong vigor bug is on the known issues list. (I've told you that before, scoob! ) And has been there for a VERY long time.

The Bard prestige enhancement abilities Spellsong Vigor and Sustaining Song do not affect Warforged.

I think the larvae are supposed to make you 'sickened' when you eat them, but since WF cannot be sickened, that may be what's preventing them from working. You can always trade them to a friendly fleshy caster.

And OK, I see that the bard song is not WAI, but if something is broken for such a long time, I guess I consider it to be part of the game. In either case, it's something you will plan for or make build choices around, because you expect it to stick around for the forseeable future. Really this is my philosophy for all bugs. WAI or not, it's now part of the game and that is the only thing that matters to me. Strategies, tactics, and builds will be designed around bugs until they are fixed.
