    Talking ummm... Hi!

I am looking to start a new toon on this server. I'll be a 7th level whatever. I have all classes and all races but Drow Elf. What type of build would get me into groups and maybe a guild after a while. Oh, btw, what are the best times to play on this server?

    Thanks for your help!!

FvSes and clerics are probably mostly welcome in most groups - probably like on all servers.
    The most efficient builds are:
    - offensive caster max con + max wis + items with spell power/DC
    - tanky-type + some casting - max DR, AC, hp, con + items with spell power/DC and sth in wis too.

7pm-2am GMT seems to be the optimal time period to be online on Cannith.

Of course if you're European then earlier may suit you better - There are plenty of European players online during the day time {GMT}.

As for classes - Everyone wants Divines - Cleric/Soul will get you into groups without trouble.
Lvl 7-13 There are lots of traps around too - Rogues are usually looked for {Arti too if you have the class}.

If you're more of the soloing type who wants to group occasionally - at mid lvls you can't go wrong with Arcane Archer or Paladin - At high levels these classes have a bit of a bad name but it's the player behind them not the class.

Also at mid levels I've had a surprising amount of tells on my Fighters asking if I wanted to run quests.

Monk, Barb, Wizard, Sorc - Shouldn't be an issue finding groups - Just not vital except for certain quests - Shadow Crypt people will look for a Firewaller still.

Druid - New Class - Not well known as yet.

Remember 2 Levels of Rogue gets you a lot of benefits for both soloing and group play - Always take the 1st lvl of Rogue at Lvl 1 for the skill points - Arti, Ranger and Wizard synergise the most but any class can get away with two rogue levels except possibly FavSoul {Not that Souls need to worry about that}.

2 Lvls of Monk also is popular - Especially for Clerics and Paladins. {More so than Rogue here}.

Guilds - There are lterally hundreds of guilds around - You'll have no issues joining one whatsoever.
However joining one you like may be more difficult.

Any guild of Lvl 70+ will have pretty much everything - The last 25 Guild Levels don't give much other than a sense of accomplishment.

A Guild of Lvl 20+ will most likely have an airship - The higher lvl the guild the more buffs/conveniences will be on that airship for you to use.

Some Guilds recruit hundreds of players, Others run with less than 10 members - Mine is somewhere in the middle.

There are Guilds for Roleplayers, Guilds for PvPers, Permadeath Guilds, Casual Guilds, Zerg Guilds, TRing Guilds etc. etc. etc.

It's completely up to you which guild fits in with how you want to play - Just don't expect to walk into a lvl 70+ guild as a newbie - Most are slightly wary these days of recruiting.

as far as Guilds go, there are quite a few on Cannith that i could recommend, depending on the type of player you are.

So the question is: What kind of player are you? What's your playstyle/time investment look like?

    Talking Tyvm!!!

I more than appreciated your help! I made a human male 3rogue/2monk/2ranger. Good for soloing and grouping. Starting from nothing, I have my basic skills in the 20's; good fighting skill and some ranged ability. Hopefully that will get me into some groups and eventually a guild I can run with.

That name (Asmodeus) I've seen it in quite a few games over the years but most notably here and in EQ/EQ2. Were they you? Anyways, registered for your guild's forum and I look forward to be invited to groups when I'm on (If I'm needed).
I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that most, if not all, games are broken to some extent.
One should not complain about them if one cannot fix them.
I, for one, should take this to heart as I embark upon another journey through this game.

    lol.....no, never played EQ/EQ2

the name Aamodeus, however, is quite old: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asmodeus

though i use it more for its connotations to D&D: http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Asmodeus

my forum name is actually a dual-reference, as the number 451 has significance as well
