Default Graphical issues on my mac.

So I downloaded the low-resolution DDO client through steam, and put this downloaded file into a bottle made by crossover games. I launch DDO through pylotro and everything works fine except for a few graphical issues. While not gamebreaking, they are quite annoying.

    no shrine visible or usable

Water is very very bright, very hard to navigate through

    xp shrine is sometimes missing

Sometimes my computer decides Eberron isn't colourful enough

And other times doors and entrances to other places, just aren't there

When I ran DDO on a windows partition everything was fine, although that got corrupted so I am forces to running it on snow leopard OS.

If you need any more information to help solve this problem let me know, I'll be back in a few hours
Exelin etc, exception Estelix of Elite Raiders, Khyber

I know nothing about steam or "bottles", and I know nothing about Macs less than 10 years old, but if you were on a PC under Windows my first thought would be its most likely due to corrupt or missing textures from corrupt or missing graphics files. Much rarer would be some problem loading or displaying those particular graphics.

I haven't seen any other reports of this..have you considered redownloading the game a second time just in case it was that easy?

If it wssn't due to missing or corrupt files, the typical forum response for a PC user would be to post your DxDiag so the system environment (and especially video hardware and drivers) could be examined by people who are more expert than me in that area.

Maybe another MAC expert will have a better answer.

I don't know ply nor macs. But the standard question of what is requested is

    1. what version of directX were you running.
    2. post your directX diags.

The pylotro page suggests lowering graphics settings to fix graphical glitches. Does this still occur with the lowest graphics settings?

I run in Wine, chose Directx9 (which I make sure and update whenever winehq has a new breakthrough), I have graphics settings on ultra across the board. The only glitches I get are the underwater being too bright (which I fixed adjusting gamma ON THE HOST COMPUTER... NOT in-game) and some occasional (not every time) texture corruption after alt-tabbing out and coming back in (relaunching fixes it).

My recommendation is to review the winehq prerequisites for DDO, AND see the how-to called "useful registry keys" http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys and experiment with the various graphics/D3D options. Some of those options need to be tweaked for macs, but for the life of me I cannot find the article on the net that specified them.
