Shroud - Not getting guild renown during raid - Very weird !

I noticed that none of my toons gains renown in any of the chests in Shroud since the MotU update.

I see others looting renown in numerous chests during the raid, but for some reason none of my toons get any. Been like that for the past 6 or 7 runs.

I do get the occasional 5 or 15 when mobs are killed, but that's it.

Has anyone else similar problems? Any idea why I am not getting any renown?

Probably has to do with all the epic players in your party. Guild renown only drops when the party members are all within a few levels of the quest being run.

Wait several levels before picking up an end reward = likely no renown.

A lvl 17 raid with lvl 23 players in it = likely no renown.

Renown is for when questing is difficult.

Want renown for your guild, bring a completionist project in = lots of chests opened on elite bravery streak...

All my toons besides one are level 20s, no epic levels yet. Used to get tons of renown during Shroud.

So you're saying that now with players being level 21 to 25 in those raids kills my chance for renonwn? Is that how it works?

But how come I get the occasional renown for mobs being killed?

Yes, that's how it works.

You can go into a lowbie explorer and still get a tiny bit or renown for killing red names- that's a different mechanic.

Chest renown is keyed to the level of the quest and the highest level of the players in the quest- Shroud on normal is level 17. Level 20 in the quest is still considered a reasonable level for renown.

Level 22 or higher (I think, it might even be level 21's) kills the possibility of renown in the chest, at 5 levels over the quest level.

It's just like running Irestone Inlet on a level 11 toon... you'll still get the chests and a tiny bit of renown from killing red names but no renown as chest rewards.

So... all the epic toons farming shroud suck out any possible XP for heroic level toons and chest guild renown. And epic toons are still running a lot of Shrouds looking for the yellow dopant so they can recycle their many past greensteel items that are no longer needed. (Make yellow dopant more available and get epic toons out of the Shrouds!)

I also suspect they might have something to do with scaling the enemies... I don't know if the higher number of failed shrouds these days has to do with more ungeared stoners or epic toons scaling the monsters but something is up. I imagine Turbine has the data to see if that's real or just anecdotal, though.

An official explanation:

When you run quests at level, you have a 20% chance of finding renown in chests. For every level you're above the quest level, that chance is reduced by 4%. So if you're 3 levels over, you're looking at an 8% chance to find renown.

Extrapolate the maths another time and at 4 levels over you have a 4% chance to get renown, with 0% chance at 5 levels over.

Was ok with not getting xp, but not getting renown is a bummer. So will have to run Shroud in groups with max. level 20.
