I've seen +4 Tomes used very well as barter items. One player bartered a +4 Tome for all of the Abishai Set Scrolls, another bartered four +3 Tomes (to be used on a second alt toon) and another bartered all the ingredients to make a tier 3 Greensteel double-shard item (assuming they had the Shards ready).
Since the AH has a 2 million cap limit, and also since 30% would be loss on it, you unlikely will see a +4 Tome on AH. But PP value is likely based on the rarity of the tome, also being that it is the Constitution tome. Assuming another player has the platinum on them, it could pull in between 1.5mil to 3mil or higher, pending how badly someone wants/needs it. Yes, big range, but it all depends on who sees the "trade" message and is really wanting to buy that +4 con tome.
Since it's so rare, the power is in the holder of that tome for the trade.

With as often as +3s and scrolls are dropping now, I can't imagine trading a +4 for them unless you were plat poor. When I posted mine I searched through some other servers for examples, and the only one I saw was for like 9 frds. Personally the only fair trade (again, unless you're low on plat) is another +4 tome, since everything else is easily purchased with plat now. Everything being bound FTL
How much is the biggest diamond in the world worth?
Basically, +4 tomes are so rare and so coveted by those who have everything else for their perfect multi-TRed max geared fully twisted characters that they are willing to trade a lot for them.
You will never see a +4 on the AH because it is worth far more than the 2mil cap. If you see one, it will not be on their long.
I would guess that a standard price would be 5-10 +3 tomes or 10-20 reds...but items this rare don't really have "standard" prices..their price is whatever the buyer is willing to pay, and you would be ASTONISHED at how wealthy the wealthiest players are. It could well be MUCH higher than what I listed as a particular player might have a huge desire for that item and also be very rich.
Personally, I would probably not buy a +4 tome as I would rather have a bunch of other +3s for alts, or +3 hearts for TRing, a zillion small/medium eberrons for xp pots or a ton of major sp pots to brute force crappy quests when on 10sorc/10x lives over the 25hp a +4 con tome gets ya if you are uneven.
But there are some who would trade a ton of stuff to make their character perfect, and +4s are rare enough that if you have one you control the conversation on price.
Yeah we figured it's certainly not worth as much as it used to; heck I almost have a full set of unbound +3's myself and I rarely run epic elites. Definitely not going to AH this lol, and probably not going for plat, if at all. Please understand, at this point we just want to know what it's worth, although yeah if there was really good offer (and there've been a few) we'd consider it. Thanks for your inputs!
+3 Tomes are dropping in the expansion quests and as end rewards from those quests, quite common now. Lvl 25 Epic Elite quests are dropping +4 tomes. I've been seeing a +4 tome about once a week when I run 4 alts through weekly till ransack. the longer the tome is held on to the less it's gonna get in trade cause the demand will be less.
That's why I've always lived by loot first, trade first profit first, and a week later watch that same trade be "practically" worthless.
Of course, +4 unbounds drop more than they used to-they used to be only a few per server per year, if that.
But the demand is still incredibly high-for many players they are the most sought after items.
The demand will go down slowly as the most impatient/richest get their needs satiated and supply grows, so it is better to sell now compared to later...but honestly that is true of most items, almost anything you can farm for has its value diminished over time as demand slackens and supply grows. So whatever you get in return for the trade is probably diminishing in value as well. Certainly true of anything that has "scale" in the name, and +4s won't be traded for plat as they are worth more than platcap. So holding onto a +4 isn't really shooting yourself in the foot.
+4 tomes will be fairly stable for a while...your ransacking 4 alts through an elite epic quest once a week is a time commitment that many people are not willing to make, and will pay dearly for such items still.
A lot, but not as much as a +4 tome for a casting stat, since 25 HP means a lot less to people than +1 DC. Prices are way too up in the air right now, and there isn't really any "standard" currency. Reds, scrolls, larges...they've all become fairly worthless...well, at least compared to their previous value.
But as others have said, +4 tomes are dropping far more than they used to as well, and the longer you wait, the less valuable it will be.
So the easy answer to your question is, it's worth what somebody is willing to pay for it and what you're willing to accept, so why worry so much about what everybody else thinks it and why not just make a trade that seems fair to you? If you want XYZ more than you want that tome for yourself, trade it for XYZ. Everybody wins.

Great inputs guys, much much appreciated. I think my buddy is leaning towards trading it, and we'll be posting up a list of fairly reasonable wants. I do agree the time to trade this is soon, it's making me itch just sitting in the bank
