This character is already in the world

One of my character was in the loading screen from teleporting from Eveningstar back to Eberron harbor when the game crashed.

When I re-logged, I can't seem to access that character anymore as it keeps prompting "This character is already in the world". On the character selection screen, it says that the character is in Eveningstar. Going into the game with another alt, the guild page shows that the character is in the Harbor.

Tried contact the GM in the past 2 days and they kept referring me to the "Tech Support". Tech support didn't help me (they just asked me to change password...and of course it didn't fix anything).

Has anyone experienced this before and know how to fix it?

Would greatly appreciate Turbine's assistance here.

Based on your description, the game thinks its already there and hasn't left, so you'll either have to contact Tech Support. I'm not surprised that GMs couldn't help with this.

I am sure that if you contact Tech Support via the support page http://support.turbine.com they can help you. Perhaps the original responder thought that changing your password might "reinitialize" the account somehow, or they misunderstood what you were reporting. I'd try again and/or reply to the original response.

I don't know about the specifics of how DDO was programmed and the exact nature of your problem, but in some MMO's in general if the problem is ocutring in the servers "active memory" it might clear itself up over time as the game might detect the issue. Or, more than likely, tomorrow's downtime may well also clear it up.
