go play something else. How many times have we heard this on these forums when complaining about DDO? That seems to be the general reply to any complaint. So in that vein, I suggest Guildwars 2. I played the first Guild Wars for 4 straight years before getting bored with it, even though I still sneak back every now and then for something to do. I don't even remember there being any bugs. I'm sure there were a few but I never encountered one that I recall. GW2 looks even more awesome but I won't get into too much detail. Just go look it up and check it out. I also play Battlefield 3, Left for Dead 2 and Killing Floor. All excellent games too. So ya, if Turbine doesn't want our business because we complain about broken content, there are certainly plenty of other options. And to all you people that throw the first line suggestion at unhappy players, keep on pushing people away, I'm sure Turbine really appreciates it.

i believe he was saying people mostly complain about things they care about ...cause if you didnt care you wouldnt complaign....he seemed to be pointing out that people telling people to quit and play another game if they have complaints is counterproductive, since there are many nice games on the market to catch a gamers eye... turbine needs all the caring customers it can get,complaining and caring go hand in hand... his post seemed rather straight forward in a sarcastic kinda way

This. If I didn't care about this game, I wouldn't be critisizing it. I would really just go back to Rift. It was bug free and immensely fun.

I did cancel my subscription tho, and right now it doesn't look like I'm going to be renewing it anytime soon. That being said, this game had better be in good shape when Guild Wars 2 comes out.

Someone on my server made a similar post in the server specific forums (something along the lines of this game is broken im leaving blah blah), and a dev actually stopped by there and said goodbye. I though that was pretty cool.

As an aside, it's amazing that Turbine could take something so highly anticipated as this expansion, and turn it into... well...

Sums up pretty much what I got from the OP as well. I'll admit. some people just like to complain. but others voice things because they care about the game and want it to be better then it is.

It's auctually quite sad tho that the developers don't frequent the "Suggestion and Ideas" thread, which is where people want to post ideas they believe will help the game, but in reality it is the forum where ideas go to die.

Thanks for all the replies. The first few kind of exemplified my point. Probably the ones that neg repped me too. But anyhow, I'm glad some people understand my point. I mean, its bad enough to be frustrated with a broken update but then you have to deal with trollers when you want to complain about it. And yes, I wouldn't complain if I didn't care about the game. I played pnp when I was a kid. I've always loved video games, especially rpg types. This game is not a terrible game by any stretch but there are definitely some major issues to complain about and before someone says "what specific issues" I will post a link http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=379878 As you can see, there is a lot that is broke. I know they're working on it. How they prioritize their work is another debate. Buy anyway, before you bash people, realize that they have spent real money on this game and expect a working product and they also have every right to complain. Dude dont listen to the brain-washed potato heads that think complaining about the games bugs/mistakes is stupid.. These same backward folks are the reason governments can kick back and laugh cause ppl like them never make a move for something better, they are complacent and easily manipulated.

While i do disagree with the style of some complaints, those that complain are trying to be productive by emphasizing certain fixes/changes to make the game better for us all. Better even for those that dont care/arent smart enough to attempt changing it themselves.

The problem is most forum complaints aren't for the good of the game, or us all, they tend to fall into the following types:

You've changed something and I don't like change, change it back.

I've failed at something make it easier

I want to be able to do everything without having to compromise, it's not fair

You've made something slightly less powerful, my character is now completely worthless

You've realized my easy button was over powered and fixed it, 'throws tantrum'

Etc

Maybe if more posts were reasonable and unbiased and less full of invective then there would be less flippant responses.
