    Default Guild(s) with naming requirements?

(note: I also posted the same thread in the RP forum, but figured it would more appropriate here. Apologies for the redundancy )

    Hi All,

I was wondering if there were any guilds out there that had naming requirements for joining up - in other words, characters need to have a proper in-character name, rather than some forum handle or OOC reference.

I figured such a group would probably be an RP group, though an RP guild is not necessarily required for me. Just tired of seeing OOC names - no offense to anyone, they're just not my bag.

Oh, server doesn't really matter to me either.

    Thanks in Advance!

    Thumbs up Mm.

Yes, the serious RP-guilds require proper name for you to join!
Roleplayers of Sarlona on the Sarlona server(you don't say) seems to have such a policy, as I see all the members there running around with in-character names over their heads!

They are also very open and welcoming people who enjoy light to heavy role play and have various end-game characters. They enjoy to run a quest OOC as well as IC. I would suggest that you check them out.

You can find their website here: http://roleplayersofsarlona.webs.com/
Good luck in advance, hope that will help you find what you are looking for!

The Black Brigade does it best to keep proper names (although some are borderline when it comes to warforged). If interested, contact Greyth on Sarlona or any black brigade member on line.

Interesting you mentioned this, because I have often dreamed of booting everyone in the guild with myriads of unrelated names. Who cares what your druid from junior high was named, no one knows who you are when you change characters.

Then again, I'd boot all of the DonkiePunch and BootyPop folks, too.

Oh if only I was fascist

I appreciate your viewpoint, though, because it's how I felt when I came to DDO after playing a roleplay MUD for 9 years. I couldn't fathom sharing items between characters, letting my player identity be known between alts, or even allowing my characters' roleplay to interact.

My freakiness about player identity lasted for about two weeks. The unique naming habit lingered for about six months. And now I'm the naming convention purist you see today

Good luck finding the right guild for you!
