Default New player WF Wiz/Rog build feedback

I've been playing DDO for about a month now with my wife and I'm looking for some build advice. I've read through many builds, but some are pretty out dated and it seems like "recent" changes may have made some of the logic behind them not quite as applicable.

So I'm building an 18/2 WF Wiz/Rogue and my wife is building a Elf FvS (mainly melee/buff/heal focused) and we intend to mostly just play the two of us. I'm sure we will occasionally group with others, that's just not going to be the norm for us. So my goal is to complement her character to allow us to do as much content in the game as is "reasonable" for a casual gaming oriented 2 person group. We're currently F2P, though I may consider VIP or just spending $$ on TP for packs and such. We both started with 32pt builds (from the DDO store since I didn't realize that there was a "natural" progression mechanism of getting to the higher point builds).

I'm mostly looking for some advice on which Spell Focus feats (and to some extent which metamagic feats) to pick up, though any and all feedback is welcome. I'm planning on going Archmage (due to being WF), but I'm also not sure how high in that it is worth progressing. The build below is based primarily around Enchantment (for CC) with a little Necromancy as well (for insta-kill DCs). Having never seen the later game content and the fact that so far 90% of my character's time has been swinging a big sword I'm finding it very difficult to plan for the future. Just a note, while I would like to play all the way to 20 (not sure about the epic levels since I'm still F2P right now) I don't expect to ever go for the absolute top end equipment/build/epic/elite content.

Also note, I didn't fill out all of the enhancements, I figured I'd see what other Enh are worth taking over time such as which "<Favorite Type> Manipulation <Level>" I will need. But if I'm missing something big, let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's simple. Max INT. Max CON. Rest into STR. All level-ups into INT.

Feats for a first life Necro/Enchant WF Archmage:

    Maximize
    Heighten
    Quicken
    SF: Necro
    GSF: Necro
    SF: Enchant
    GSF: Enchant
    Insightful Reflexes
    Toughness
    Mental Toughness (required for Archmage)
    Spell Penetration
    Greater Spell Penetration

Thanks for the response. I did follow that basic strategy for the attributes (though as WF I could have gone 20 Con, but that seemed overkill). I see you dropped Extend from the feats I had taken. I was considering that already as I had added it early due to seeing it in other builds, and while I do use it occasionally, it seems like it could be skipped, though the SP savings does get better at higher levels (but the spells generally get longer too).

However you have 12 feats there and as a 18/2 wiz/rogue, I think I only get 11 feats. I guess one of the "Greater" feats would probably get dropped.

I would take SF: Conj instead of either Ench for the Web SLA. Extend is also nice while leveling for things like Haste, Resist, Shield, etc. You can swap it out at the higher levels.

Search a few pages back - there are quite a few Wiz/Rog threads.

THIS. Keep Extend till about 15 (great for Haste's, Displcement, Fire/Cold Shield esp) and then swap out with free feat swap to Quicken (could go even higher to 16/17).

Definitely, definitely, definitely, definitely take SF Conjuration for SLA Web. Definitely.

    Definitely.

It is so good that you should start out with Spell Mastery: Conjuration so you can get it that much faster. (Swap to Spell Mastery: Necromancy and Secondary Spell Mastery: Conjuration at level 12.)

    .

Your other SLAs are not worth getting except maybe Chill Touch. If you could squeeze SF: Enchant in SLA Hypno is great, but you can't, so forget about it.

Manip wise you have two basic options:
-Versatility: no higher than 7/1/1 in any element
-Specialization: have a specific target in mind (epic Lailat, Abbot, etc.) and tune your enhancements accordingly

For you I recommend the first approach, and specifically something like...
    -7/1/1 in Cold and Electric
-1/0/0 in Repair, Force, and Fire
-everything else in Acid (around 3/1/1)

    .

Equipment-wise, the standard stuff everyone wants (Con, Fort, GFL, saves), an Int item, and a relevant Thaumaturgy staff will hold you in very good stead.
