    Default Friends panel, Squelch panel

I know many people who use their 'friends panel' when squelching someone to write up the notes on person they're squelching. This is less than perfect solution, but it works. Sometimes I wish I could write comments on my ignore list, like, list of alts of target person, or reason he's got squelched, and 'expiration date' of squelch (when the player can get a 2nd chance). Also, I'd love the ability to export/import squelch lists to a text file, so that i can share it in between characters/accounts. Or send it to a friend/guildie for blacklist merge.

So. I'd like to get a Ignore Tab in my Social Panel, functioning similarly to friends panel, but instead of login/logout messages when a 'friend' logs on, it would give me complete blackout of incoming messages from players on the list.

In short, add an ignore panel so that I could put someone on it, or so that someone can put me on it.

With amount of player-to-player negativity present in any MMO where things can go pear-shaped, I believe this idea will have more backing than some ideas that would actually help the gameplay. Although, it's a completely different story, isn't it?

Wanna know how i can back up this idea? /squelch this thread, or be prepared to duck :-p i suggested something similar to this (called it a black list) your pretty much taking my thread and wording it much differently. Your probably going to get the same exact answers as i did when i suggested this.

    1. it will take dev time
    2. the social panels and lag are already bad, adding more panels would not be a good idea
    3. No, this will cause isolation blah blah blah
    4. /squelch is good enough.

Just letting you know that this is a good idea before the mud-slingers hop in. Hope we see it in-game one of these days

If I'm recalling correctly, you got flamed because you squelch people for breathing funny.

Six years playing and I've only ever squelched three people and one of them got removed a couple months later.

As for making a squelch panel... In my opinion it still won't help because the squelch feature isn't all that great to begin with. Most people I have talked to in game about it are not aware that you can still join or have squelched people join your groups. Oddly enough, you can squelch a fellow guildie if you desired. All squelch does is shut off their typing and voice chat for you. That's it.

So if you're going to ask for something to better upgrade your blacklists, I would suggest improving the dynamics of the squelch feature to better keep you away from your problem people.

it shouldnt have mattered for my reason to /squelch a person, my idea in itself is essentially the same as the op here. upgraded black list. and no not cuz they breathed funny, i havent been /squelching as many people lately.

well just recently /squechled this noob who spent 30 mins hasseling me for free plat, didnt know em, and i felt like rather than spending time getting hand outs they needed to actually quest and see how 1k was easy to get. If they were my friend rather than some random i would have given up the plat. but they guy kept sending me tells, opening trade windwos (which cost me to accidentally select an enhancement, meaning i now just had to spend plat to change my enhancements around) least to say, sorry noob, i like to be helpful to your noobish kind but 1. you asking for handouts while i dont know you and 2. you just cost my my hard earned and very limited plat /squelch

hey stay here, dont aggro mobs...zooms off instead and aggros upcoming pain. 5 members die, one guy picked up 2 stones and brings em to shrine. 3 are up now including said zerger. Zooms off again and turns the shrine into a war zone. Cant rez here anymore. an hour and a half later the quest is done. yeah that guy who turned a 30 min quest into an hour and half extravaganza constitutes a /squelch in my book in that time i could have done a total of 3-4 quest.

we all have our personal reasons for blacklisting someone regardless of your personal reason or "it will isolate other players in the game" if you really think about it, its already happening with /squelch, if a person has such a bad rep on the server (think of the server as like a medium town almost everyone knows everyone else, slowly turning into a city, maybe small town if nerfs are bad enough)

seen a post up for servants on hard, normally that group fills fast when posted, poor guy has the same exact post up for a week or so. I've seen that posting on lfm so much that i cna remember it

    servants of the overlord
hard, tank looking for other tank, have hire.

for the first half of the week he posted it openly, soon he went under anonymous knowing his rep wasnt all that great, hoping to fool people into his party.

then he eventually set his party to public which gave away his name. Least to say is rep was his own doing, and if you dont mind gathering a bad rep then you shouldnt mind a black list cuz your going to be in that guys shoes one day with your thumb up your third point of contact probably wondering why your group isnt filling. Its going to happen like it or not, People get isolated with such low server populations, people butt heads and find at least one person their going to dislike enough to /squelch, maybe their political views arent the same as yours(i dont care about peoples political views but one of my former guildies squelched anyone who was democratic...thus the reason former guildie, i dont swing either way, im neutral on political parties) , maybe there racist (yes ran into 1, racist person on my server, and i hope that is the last time), maybe they hate you for your sexuality.
You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with 'til ya understand who's in ruttin' command here.
