    Default Handwrap question

I'm pretty inexperienced with monk handwraps, but looted these last night. Seem really good to me, but I could be delusional.

My monk is only level 13 and I'm not sure I would have the UMD to use these so don't have a clue if that's common or if my monk just needs more work.

    Anyway... here they are:

They aren't horrible by any means, but they aren't amazing either. You're getting 2d6 damage per swing consistently (from true chaos and brilliance) but the flaming blast is only happening on crits so isn't as big a bump as it appears at first. A plain old +5 [element] of pure good (or bleeding) is fairly close and is much lower min level. Also your monk would be required to have 20 UMD to bypass the restriction. If you aren't taking UMD, these wraps are no good to you.

Keep looking. There are some amazing combinations out there that will make this look like trash. I've got my eye open for scintillating of mauling. Shocking burst, stunning 10, slicing, bleeding and maiming. That would be a nice toy.

One definite problem is what you mentioned. They're true chaos. Monks are lawful.

If I had the choice, as a monk, between these and my Unstable wraps, I'd be using Unstable. Which is ML14.

Sell them, new and better loot combination types are becoming common now.

As the last poster noted, a pure Monk cannot wear these wraps as the class is always Lawful.

Also, Update 14 changed the accepted glitch that allowed the Unstable Handwraps (which have Anarchic Burst) to work on Monks without giving them negative levels. While the Unstables don't give negative levels, epic wraps generated with Anarchic prefixes now WILL give you a negative level. Non-epic wraps (like some Anarchic Wraps of Construct Bane I have) still work without neg leveling me. Your mileage may vary.
