Since Paralyzed mobs can still move, cast spells, shoot arrows and/or hit you, I don't see much advantage ...

Because if you could get things like that from regular chests, you wouldn't spend your hard earned (or purchased) Turbine Points on dozens of Universal Challenge tokens and run dozens of Challenges (most, if not ALL, of them solo on a reduced level) in an attempt to gather enough materials to build items like that. If Turbine just gave them away there wouldn't be much point in Challenges and Turbine would see their profits reduced accordingly.

My first thought on seeing yer screenie was.......
I wonder if he knows that there are actually 3 different focus orbs and that the 'eye' toggles them?
(the next one likes to default to the lower right corner, ya might have to move yer hotbars to see it)
Anyways, if you have that focus orb by choice, just ignore everything I posted.

Only if that action was queued when they became paralyzed... After that ONE action, they are really paralyzed.

Paralyzing is a very useful effect for any melee who wants to be self-sufficient.

Level 20 shuriken turn in. Costs 200 fey toadstools from Defenseless and 800 silver falcons from Fight to the Finish (Which is a PITA because you have to take them out of your bag and divide them into 2 stacks for the barter UI to accept it.)

But its not because of the imprv paralyzing.

anyone yet tested it? does it have some secret random ability that isn't on list?

Apparently it can proc pretty much anything in the game.

Curse, destruction, crushing wave, magma surge, cacophony, improved shattermantle, d6 elemental damages...I'm sure there are lots more that I didn't notice yet.

That's standard on all ranged weaponry, stat-replacement feats notwithstanding.

Ya, that was on my mind too ... Most people never actually read much these days.


btw, Spelltouched seems to have the same proc rate as double-rainbow (like 7%), not quite sure yet need some larger samples. Had a shuriken on Lam, not one here yet.

Closer to 100% based on my testing. Since I was testing on the training dummy, I assume some things weren't displaying because of immunities. A lot of the time its just a 1d6ish random elemental damage proc though.
