I strictly solo. Single or multiclass? Mele, spell, ranged? I'd like something fun. I read that Warforged Sorc shouldn't be multi. Arti either. I like them both. I like Druid & Monk. Lots of options in DDO. Is armor important? Is DPS best?
Thanks

DPS is king but your DPS is 0 when your a soul stone..
Fvs human evoker seams really strong
Sorc WF second
Wiz human PM is very serviable but does a bit less dmg then sorc and fvs so longer boss fights and less mana then the first too... A rouge splash or AM WF would be good to if you like to get traps.
Druid ??? Wolf for melee DPS elemental for magic or bear for self healing tank... very survivable a bit confusing to make a good one, and attacking in animal form for me feels a bit... Weird... Not sure why..
Ranger ?? Tempest exploiter build for me is very fun melee to play can self heal after a fight, hard to during.. And do traps
Artie WF same as exploiter but has blade barrier! and reconstruction!
Bards in general a war chanter might be easier to solo with then one of the other kinds just cause they tend to be splashs for better melee..
Depends on what you like and how you like to play, for me I like the pale master cause the aura, can mitigate a lot of damage with it, and I like the utilitarian feel of wizards though right now I'm considering switching to sorc. To many death warded stuff with to high saves for dispel at end game..
Where am I and why am I in this hand basket.
Main Server: Orien
Main Toons: Gaarn lvl20 (4th life PM wizard) Broken on MyDDO | Jeran lvl20 (18 rang/1 monk/1 rog)
WF Wizard.
Archmage: Primary Necro, Secondary Conjuration. (However, start as Primary Conjuration because 1) you get SLA Web faster and 2) you won't have any important Necro spells until 11 anyway.)
Featwise... Maximize, Heighten, Mental Toughness, Toughness, GSF Necro, SF Conj, some Spell Pen, Insightful Reflexes.
You will be extremely soloable and contribute significantly in any group, should you ever change your mind.
Especially as a first lifer, your instant kills will be significantly stronger than a sorcerer, and you will have more than enough direct damage and CC for that which will not be killed.
.
If you are adamant about always soloing, you will be better off with a plain ol' barbarian and a divine hireling. No thought required: see mob, hit mob.
Warforged archmage, 18 wizard/2 monk with inciteful reflexes, or 18 favored soul/2 monk half elf with pally dill, would be among the most survival characters you could make for a first life from my experience. Pretty much immune to most spells with careful use of buffs, high saves, evasion and you can self heal with scrolls.
I would go a bard/warchanter 14, fighter 4, rogue 2, twf with kopeshes. You have spells, evasion, can get traps, and melee just fine. And you always can umd what you can't cast.
Rouge 1 (1st level), Monk 4 (2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th), Cleric 15 (3rd and remainder) combines trap abilities, HtoH combat, self healing (esp aura) and buffs, go with a hElf Paladin Dilli for the saves. Only problem is the stats as you need all of them

I would personally go with an artificer if you 'strictly' solo because arti lets you disable traps, decent none sp damage (xbow and pet) and with umd you gain access to alot of scrolls and items too. The pet is also handy when you need to pull multiple levers at the same time.
Now the downside to arti is lack of evasion, which means you won't be able to access every single trap in the game. However many traps can still be disabled and with jump and timing etc. you can work around most traps.
Commoner 18/Rogue 2 for evasion.
Libras of Khyber, Rogue 80.
Malakatai of Khyber, TR Gimp, useless almost all the time.
Leader of Discordia, community of friends and family.
Artificer is the soloing easy button. Extremely powerful right out of the box - very forgiving and very difficult to "screw up" your build. Take Augment Summoning and your dog becomes a beast. Throw in a divine hireling and you're golden.
I'm leveling a human Art right now to be my crafter/farmer and it's been a cakewalk. I've soloed SC, Delera's, Gwylan's, House D Sentinel series, etc all on elite with BB. I'm considering giving Von3 Elite solo at level. Should be fun.
I also have a 2nd life WF Wizard AM (Necro/Conj focus) at 16 right now. He's very powerful but I've found Wizard is less forgiving. You need to be decently geared and have solid knowledge of quests because you will run out of spell points otherwise.
An Art can go into a quest and just plink everything into oblivion. A Wizard can't really do that. I mean you can but you have to be efficient gathering mobs and using AOEs. The margin for error is smaller.
I'll probably TR my Wiz into Sorc for his next life. I find the Wiz is better as an end-game scalpel whereas the Sorc is an all-game nuker. Just fits my playstyle better.
After Artificer, I would say FvS has incredible solo potential, whether an evoker build or WF LotB build. They are different but both extremely powerful and survivable.
I'd go with WF arti. Useful skills, self healing, ranged DPS, UMD bonuses. The pet can also catch levers for you if you need 2 pulled at once. Or carry your soulstone to the shrine.
