Also, I'm going to go out on a limb and say you never served in the military, or you would have some sense of how a soldier's mind works during wartime. I'll tell you this much. You aren't worried about how you will be remembered. No book can tell you how they felt.
Sounds like a few here in this thread are quite excited to derail this thread. This isnt about me, its about the OPs subject, or is it?

People are going to feel the way they feel. Period.

If you do not like the historical context of this matter, its understandable. The Japanese people themselves havent been able to agree as a nation how to feel about it.

Now if you wish to debate historical fact surrounding this subject, lets hear your side of it.

To me, I think it suffices to mourn the innocents and feel zero empathy to those who carried out human atrocities. That's the closest I can get to forgiveness of the worst offenders of human dignity, on either side of the battlefield.

That's actually untrue. Read an eye opening book called Wages of Guilt: Memories of War in Germany and Japan, which takes an in depth look on the human atrocities, the guilt of many soldiers of these two nations, and the corrupt and evil political engines behind the scenes pulling the strings. Guarantee you, you'll change your mind if you do.
Why are you continuing to debate politics and history in this thread? It is completely inappropriate for you to continue to meddle in this thread that was made to solemnly honor the dead who gave up their lives at war. I know that you don't like it when people come in to bicker in the many Memorial Day/Veterans Day threads that you have created. Why would you think it's okay to come in and do the same thing that you don't like when it's someone else's thread?

Please stop disrupting this thread and just let people honor the dead (no matter whether you like the people who died or not).

There's only a few people that have ever "bickered" in our threads, and its the same few that are bickering now. My opinion is in line with Gots and Bekkis. And I'm happy with that.

The only ones that ridiculed others for their opinion in this thread have been those of "another" forum, all who seem to be showing up in this thread. Shocker.

Looking back, you took time to comment in our threads, multiple times, always condemning our efforts. That's ok though, everyone cant agree.

I took my time to comment here. That should be the end of it. But of course, the few that is vehemently against what we do is making this about my opinion. Who cares, just rep the OP and move on. Anything else is trolling.

I'm no lawyer, but that sounds like an indirect admission of your posting similar thread to farm rep...
