    Post 12 fighter / 6 ranger / 2 rogue dwarf

    So my main is finishing up his second life, and next life i'd like to go kensai II / tempest I with a aplash of rogue so I can successfully disable traps on norm/hard for sure, elite with moderate success would be nice. However, I got no clue where to look for a dwarven axe toting kensai/tempest disable. Anyone care to help me out with a build or a link to one?

    Are you stuck on a kensi?

    this is still going for dps - take all dps feats for a fighter - go with stalwart instead.

    you have a perm +4 str/con and you can still use your titans grips.

    I would go 12ranger/7fighter/1rogue, 12ranger/7rogue/1fighter(or monk) or 12figther/7rogue/1ranger(or monk)

    Six levels of ranger wont get you much: You need a lot of feats to get tempestI and 17 dex for greater two weapon fighting. Your spells are weak and dont last for long (no 30-resists). With 12 levels of ranger you can dump dex (as you can get greater TWF with tempestII), your spells are better (full resists and rams might for 12 minutes and you can even selfheal a bit) and you get 100% offhand attacks. 7 levels of fighter or rogue get you haste boostIII with is a great increase in DPS. Rogue gets a lot of sneak attack damage and uncanny dodge, Fighter gets you kensaiI and some feats.

    This is my current Dwarfen Tempest-Kensai-Trapper and I love to play him because it's such a versatile toon:

    All this buils have in common: Max two weapon fighting with anything I could fit in to increase the damage and offhand attack rate, max trap skills and umd because that's why I multiclass, some strategy from the kensai part like improved sunder and stunning blow. All this builds are dps with reasonable HP, but defenetly no tanks. It's always funny to hear "tanks" talk about their high HP while you get the traps, stunn the mobs, throw healscrolls, pass out resists and raise them when needed (And on the builds with 7 rogue levels some thread reduction is needed or you will grab the aggro from medicore tanks)
    Please DOOOOOM!!!!!11111!!!!! early and often.

    If you really want trap skills on a Kensai II, I would go with the ftr 12 / rogue 7 / <splash> 1 build; that lets you get away with low INT so you won't gimp your DPS while still getting enough skill pts. Plus you get some extra SA DPS and Uncanny Dodge, which is a lot more useful than it used to be (25% Dodge and it's on a timer rather than being limited-use-per-rest).

    Base stats: something like 18 / 15 / 18 / 10 / 8 / 6 w/lvl-ups into STR. [Could start DEX 14 INT 12 if you took a +3 DEX tome before TRing.] Put your skill pts into UMD, Search, and Disable with leftovers wherever you like (Balance, Open Lock, and/or Spot are good options). Feats (not in order): TWF x3, Kensai pre-reqs (WF/WS/GWS), Toughness, Power Atk, Cleave, GC, IC:Slash, OC:Slash, epic Toughness (after +3 CON tome). Should have 3 or 4 feats remaining; I like tactics such as Imp Sunder & Stunning Blow; could also pick up Power Crit for a bit more DPS (+2 Seeker bonus finally) and Precision for fighting high-AC high-fortification targets; maybe SF UMD to goose that a bit.

    I don't know what the best light armor is these days, but Marilith Chain is now light and it's hard to go wrong with +6 Seeker & Shatter bonuses (+10 epic).

    Hiya

    This is what I would go with. On one of my toons past lives I had 2 rouge levels with about 5 in open lock and disable device, with the right gear he could disable traps in some elite content and easily in norm and hard.
    In this build I've given you 9 in each (just max one at each rogue level) and then a bit of freedom to do what you like. I like balance usually but you will want to invest more heavily in search (and possibly spot, although by now you probably know where most trap boxes are) and get yourself an epic treasure hunters spyglass with TS and 20 search and spot.

    At level 21 take Overwhelming Critical Slashing
    At level 23 take Epic toughness
    At level 24 take a point in Strength
    At level 25 take Great Strength, (Note I am not 100% sure you get a feat at level 25 but I am sure you do, I cannot find anything to confirm or deny it though so I could be wrong)

    You may have an odd ending strength (depending on tomes) for which I would reccomend using the PDK Gloves and helm which give you +9 strength in total. With this build you can either go with light armor, (I would suggest the http://ddowiki.com/page/Hide_of_the_Goristro) which will still give you evasion, or for something heavier the PDK plate armor or the epic cav plate.
    Considering your past lives I'm assuming you do not have stock piles of fighter gear, so all the above is nice and easy to get.

    You'll notice +1 tomes are taken at level 2 and +2's at 6. This is because when you TR the tomes take actually effect at levels 3 and 7 instead of being used then.

    At present we 're supposed to get two feats (lvls 21 & 24) and one stat pt at lvl 24 - i.e., continuing same progression as Heroic lvls. But the stat pt was bugged on release and we weren't getting it; haven't checked to see if the patch added that in yet.

    Thank you all for replying.
    @Hobgoblin
    I've considered that before when I was contemplating a dps hate tank, using khopeshes up to lvl 20, then respeccing to bastard swords once I got 2 epic chimera fangs. And now that I think about it, a stalwart/sentinel hate tank might work.
    @heph-whatever-the-end-of-your-name-is (I forgot :P)
    Those builds look nice, however it, IMO, would be better to go 12/6/2 because 2nd level in a class usually gives bonuses
    (monk/rogue evasion, ranger TWF etc.) so I might roll a 28 pt version of one of these to try it out.

    @everyone else
    - no titans grip possible for me
    - +2 tomes in all but cha and (wis/str, not sure)
    - lvls 21-25 will be far off b/c my highest packs are vale, DD, and reavers

    That's true, but level 7 gives some nice things over level 6 too (mostly enchantment) like haste boost3, Sneak attack dice, sneak attack training (togehter thats 1d6+3 extra damage), subtel backstabbing and wrack construct on a rogue.

    this is still going for dps - take all dps feats for a fighter - go with stalwart instead.

    you have a perm +4 str/con and you can still use your titans grips.

    Hmm stalwart bonuses also have their stacking issues, and lock you out of getting buffs like rage, primal scream and madstone...
