    First, awesome post.

Second, wow. Looking up, then researching a little, then just, wow. "Brony." Just wow. So amazed that this is a term, thing, and... I might just have to watch the show.

    Third. Devs, wow. Just wow.

Fourth, and most important. Devs, I REALLY hope this means that your next cosmetic pet is FINALLY going to be pegasus unicorns. It had freaking better be! In like a three pack, night mare, twinkle, and the celistina, or whatever their names were. My wife has been waiting FOREVER (okay, just since you announced cosmetic pets) for these!

I don't know how much longer I can keep her playing this game with me without these!

We have three raid weapons that have references.

If I recall, the new content also includes a spider-god, a siege on a peaceful village, mind-controlled slaves, and Necromancers that raise the bodies of their enemies and command them to fight their friends and family.

Just like in My Little Pony! Except not at all.

I'd actually be extremely interested in having Celestia on my rogue. It has the blinding effect of a RadII rapier, but has a lot higher base damage, better mutations (we don't even know what Greater Sunburst hits for), and I can switch to Improved Crit: Slashing so that my feat covers epic Midnight's Greetings, too.

I'd also like to see what it does with only "Light" damage. Does that mean it bypasses all DR's? Is it considered physical damage? I think people are judging these weapons way too quickly.

I'll point out one more thing that bugs me about the staff and it's something that alot of people are saying about these raid items: it doesn't break DR.

However, there is one major difference between the other weapons and quarterstaves with the new 20+ items: there are no randomly generated 2[xdx] quarterstaves that drop with metal-based properties. Yes, even handwraps are dropping with regularity with Silver, Cold Iron, etc on these high level randomly generated weapons. So there are no randomly generated quarterstaves that break DR at high levels, even if you deconned them.

So to get a DR breaker, one has to run the Deleras, Threnal or Sorrowdusk chain for a very rare drop then decon it and make a DR breaker, but it will only be a regular staff. Or one would need to slot an Epic Nat Gann with good, but that's only for Dex based players and only breaks Devil DR. Or one would need an Artificer in the group to cast the metal based property on a Dreamspitter, a cannith crafted regular low level staff or a randomly generated high level holy/good staff or holy/good GS.
Nat gann uses the higher of str or dex. Have you looked at it recently?

Never did understand the whole Brony thing, but the sociologist in me decided to watch some MLP one day. I watched a few episodes, and while I am not saying I am a card carrying Brony, I at least get it now.

It's definitely not the old MLP that killed you with too much kindness and made me wonder why anyone watched it (men and women).

Most MLP fans I've been forced to encounter have shown a higher level of maturity, and education, than the majority of this community. Most of them, despite being on the Internet, can actually spell the majority of their words correctly. Shocking I know.

I'm also a big fan of cartoons that emphasize actually keeping the adults entertained as well since in the end we're forced to watch it when the kids are watching it. My Little Pony (talking 4th generation here, not the old ones) at least tries.

And it's totally refreshing, especially when you have to read someone stating that math is not facts.

We already have "over 9000" equipment, it's just not listed in the description. They're items like bauble or eSoS that take over 9000 hours to acquire :P

P.S. Lame references are lame. DnD lore is apparently not rich or epic enough, instead we get stupid ponies. Well, at least it's not Twilight references, cause at that point torches and pitchforks would be in order.

The developers barely seem to play DDO let alone play the PnP version the game gets its name from.

Hmmm, never had a DM use pop-culture references in your game? That's too bad.

There are plenty of song and movie references in the game.

And considering that the lore of Eberron was being created when DDO came out...

No, I haven't. Wasn't sure if that ever got fixed for both or stayed just for Dex like the Breeze.

It still doesn't negate my base complaint about the lack of DR breaking options at high levels compared to all the other weapons in the game. As I stated, even the always forgotten and often complained about handwraps got fixed. And I pointed out in the multiple threads in closed beta about the need to have metal-property handwraps that quarterstaves suffered the same problem.

I could see a quest in which a vampire sparkled as some kind of item effect.
Goal would be to trick him into the sunlight and disable the enchantment.

"Hah, you fools! Sunlight cannot hurt me ... look as I sparkle and despair!"
    <Disjunction>
"Ah! It burns, it burns, it ... <sizzle> ... oh, whataworldwhataworld ... <crispification>"

Or perhaps a quest called "Staking Emo"

"The world doesn't understand me, or how hard it is not to drink blood or kill people or sparkle all the time in the sunlight ..."
"Whatever, vampy. Just kick the chest key over and no one has to get hurt."
    "You just don't understand ..."

The Slavermaster at the end of the House of Broken Chains makes a Lord of the Rings reference.

The alpha werewolf at the end of Murder by Night makes a Princess Bride reference.

There are probably a lot more. What do you have against ponies?
