Ok. First, when making a melee quarterstaff, I would hope that an Acrobat is foremost in mind.

Most Acrobats, like most rogues, will probably be True Neutral, so the 32 UMD will be needed. This shouldn't be too much of a problem, except for the major lag problem when swapping items that have anything to do with UMD.

Next there's the FoM on it. With the changes to FoM, I don't really know what the overlap is with FoM and Acrobats immunity to slippery surface. If there's overlap, it's yet another quarterstaff that has an ability (for the most part) granted to Acrobats. If there's no overlap, I bet the change of FoM is due to that pesky bug that prevents the icon from appearing for Acrobats when they are buffed.

Lastly, there's Feather Falling. This annoys me for a couple of reasons. First, with the enhancement changes, Acrobats should be getting Slow Fall which would negate this ability for Acrobats for the most part so it becomes another slot that could be more useful for the main character type that will be using this weapon. Second, even if Acrobats don't get Slow Fall in the enhancement pass, there are times on an Acrobat (at least when I played one) where I don't want to FF all the time and equipping and re-equipping will be a PITA again because of the UMD check.

....Of course there's a chance that some or most of the stuff on this item is randomly generated, since people are saying there are two different versions of the Cleaver.
FoM on an acrobat is still really handy, means you don't get held etc.

This staff is great, it has a 18-20 crit range. My only concern is that pulverizer from LD might not work for it.

The crit range is great, I agree.

I'll point out one more thing that bugs me about the staff and it's something that alot of people are saying about these raid items: it doesn't break DR.

However, there is one major difference between the other weapons and quarterstaves with the new 20+ items: there are no randomly generated 2[xdx] quarterstaves that drop with metal-based properties. Yes, even handwraps are dropping with regularity with Silver, Cold Iron, etc on these high level randomly generated weapons. So there are no randomly generated quarterstaves that break DR at high levels, even if you deconned them.

So to get a DR breaker, one has to run the Deleras, Threnal or Sorrowdusk chain for a very rare drop then decon it and make a DR breaker, but it will only be a regular staff. Or one would need to slot an Epic Nat Gann with good, but that's only for Dex based players and only breaks Devil DR. Or one would need an Artificer in the group to cast the metal based property on a Dreamspitter, a cannith crafted regular low level staff or a randomly generated high level holy/good staff or holy/good GS.

Sneaking in "This magnificent bastard" into an item description - well done!

Sure you could. For instance, you could put a somewhat overpowered prefix on a rare named weapon or two. Then you could put the same prefix on random loot. Then you could realize that some of those lootgen items have really nice crit profiles. Then you could nerf said prefix into utter uselessness.

Then you could put it on a named item--named after a pony.

So Celestia is actually a flashlight, not a weapon? No piercing damage? Not even magic? Time to equip my Invulnerability item again...

And it will burn straight through you, light damage same as spells so the only protection should be resistance to light, don't think that is very common. It'll also make a proper mess of vampires.

All the above assumes it is actually doing damage as light.

It is a Sunblade. Specifically a type in the FR called the Star of Day. They do light damage...

When I first read this my mind read 'flash' as 'flesh' and it had a whole different meaning.

Oh man, that Celestia looks awesome. I love Light damage. I just wish it had Radiant Blast on it too.

I'm just surprised it doesn't have banishing on it.

I believe that the Crystal Cove hats already have the 9000 reference.

Because it would not be an effective weapon. It would take 8 episodes just to build up that level of power, only for the melee to swing once and miss.

LOL since I am a total brony I love it. Im also a 30 something guy who crushed on megan in the blue jumper as a wee lad back when I had to share tv time with girls. to be fair the he man/she ra power hour helped eas from boy to girl cartoons enough and smurfs and the like where pretty unisex.

Ofcourse for me it was the fact I always argued with the fellow boys about who was the toughest of the 80s cartoons. Most went with he man, g.i. joe or rarely voltron.

Now myself, I went with the care bears. Those little balls of fur might seem all cuddly and friendly but each one is a walking emotionally charged nuclear ray gun. You know how the world ends? The day grumpy bear wakes up on the right side of the bed and feels motivated enough to stare the earth into a smoking ruin.

Ah, but the movies proved they could not sustain the stare for long and they'd be out of juice.

But I did often wonder why they didn't just nuke from "cloud" orbit.

We all knew the zsword was going to be a joke. No for me it was back when Goku was on the ship approaching namek, what was that 10 episodes to cover the last five minutes of his approach while gohan and krillon got the stuff pounded out of them. Then the last episode before he lands bam 6 month break on cartoon network before it comes back on and we get to see what goku can do, oh sure it was glorious, right up tunil he got his body stolen. NOW THAT WAS FRELLED!
