I dont agree with this nerf, but I think I can BS a reason...
Devs wanted to make poison more of an issue for players to deal with. They changed the way poison immunity works and put different kinds of poison effects on weapons to give the players an idea of what kinda stuff they will be attacked with. Well none of that matters much for very long in the face of the primary source of HP recovery, heal. This spell is easily seen as the go to spell for all divine in terms of healing but its also really good at removing Stat damage and even poison effects. In party situations where you have a Divine getting poison on you and taking damage really isn't a big deal, both will be taken care of with the most mana efficient HP recovery spell.
This change gives divines pause and allows them to find the next more efficient form of healing, and puts mass healing and heal up there with panacea and restoration.
Still this does make being a Divine a little more painful. A class that most of us have, few of us play as mains and still fewer care to pug anymore.
I really feel like this update makes less viable a lot Divine build options and gear setups. Like Heal OR do something else, as opposed to Heal AND do something else. I see myself dropping the Heal part and just doing something else with my divine.
On the upside they've added yet another class that CAN heal, but likely wont, just like Arties CAN heal but often dont. Only time will tell that story.
They've also given ED hjealing options to Barbs and better healing options to rangers, some of these can be twisted.

Irro of Gland
What a crock of ****.
GROAN-1 (Melee/Casting Horc FVS)
WF Healer's Friend broken...
and now: half amp from SPWR is WAI?
This isn't just a small adjustment but a real nerf!
A agree with what was posted before: it seems to complicated to fix it... so let's call it WAI!
Not sure my WF FvS will ever PUG again
Haven't you noticed? This already is live. They just added it to the Lam-Release-Notes to justify it.
Seriously: it's on live. There is more than one thread about it. Click Click

I'm usually an optimistic guy. However, let's just cut to the chase on this one 'eh?
Come
The
BLEEP
On.
Isn't it bad enough that the mass/heal spells are already red-headed step children in terms of apply meta magic's to them? Jast make up your mind and go for it turbine, Enough with the Half-measure. You want to nerf Mass/heal into uselessness? Fine, Enough with the nancy-boy non-sense, Just take 'em out of the damned game already and be done with it.
Yes, That's honestly better than adding new layers of Obfuscation for no good Bleeping reason.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but the bits that are changed are:
- Spell power from items are halved for Heal and Mass Heal
- Spell power from enhancements are halved for heal and Mass Heal
- Spell power from empower heal has full effect
Tested on lammania with mass heal on my level 20 FvS (so with no items, enhancements and feats, does 200 healing)
Ya know, Spellpower System & the new staves were a kick in the balls to my battle cleric, but I could adapt...it just meant swapping to fleshmaker's/Luminous Truth for aura/burst/hjealer or boss/DP mode and going melee on trash. It added one more complication, but not that big of a deal...I can adapt.
Still no Tier III for Radiant Servant or Angel of Vengeance...no big deal...it'll be in with the ever-postponed enhancement pass...I'm patient...I'll adapt.
The new AC system, which I overall like, adds many new dimensions to defense, and many different ways to do it. I like it, but it hit the most common cleric splash (2 monk) VERY hard....no big deal...I can adapt.
Now it's getting rough to micro-manage....
MotUD was rushed, and a cleric destiny didn't make it in....Exalted Angel or Unyielding Sentinel doesn't look so bad for a cleric (with a bunch of twists)...not much to boost healing or Radiant Servant abilities, but... This means I have to SLA sling heals, light, and maintain stacks to be effective in either, while constantly weapon swapping to melee somehow in-between all of this...I'm up to the challenge, but this is getting ridiculous...I can adapt.
Christ, how much more adapting do they expect of me?
Turbine offers a free LR (with no +'s, so I can't spec out of ineffective multi-classing)...no big deal, I'll suffer through, I made my choices...time to live with them.
The new spellpower system is bugged and everything I do is only 1/2 power to what it should be under the new rules...Everything broke with U14, they're busy, have many things to fix....I'll suffer through...I'll adapt until it's fixed.
RS aura/burst (spell-like abilities)...heal, mass heal, and some light spells (reportedly) recieving 1/2 spell power are confirmed as WAI. They are the sole exception to the new rules. DDO store pots are upgraded.
Now, my perfectively affective meele RS II 17cleric/2/monk/1fighter (a VERY common multi-class) can no longer wield weapons and effectively heal, cannot rely on PrE abilities to heal, lacks relevant damage mitigation, and due to low SP inherent to clerics, cannot effectivly heal.....but I can melee and self-heal at 2/3 the strength of a dedicated melee DPS (dependant +/- on destinies and twists).
So, what good am I ?
Why on earth would anyone want to play a cleric at this point? Low spell Points...1/2 power heal/light....Feats nerfed (Empower/Empower Heal/Maximize meaning far less), can't melee and maintain heals (an attribute inherent to divines in D&D), and can't compete in DC's for offensive casting (compared to FvS....and moreso to arcanes).
Witness the death of clerics....FvS's are now Hjeal bots....They will rebel...witness the death of FvS's with any semblance of Raid-Healing....witness the death of divines....
On the plus side...Pally's look good right now for both DPS and tanking, and a cleric PL is at least somewhat relevant....

Its *not* a bug, its a stealth nerf, confirmed. All divine casting is nerfed -50% from what it is rated. Ditto Radiant SLAs, ditto warforged Healers' Friend.
...and that nerf is what happens when you as a player directly compete with the new DDO store bought spellpoint/Heal potions...
How disappointing. Gosh, we were all waiting this patch to fix bugs and all and all they have done is: Nerf healing and fix close to nothing.
- Healing nerfed
- Consume still bugged.
- Executioner strike still bugged.
- Meld Into Darkness capped at 25%, bugged.
- Fearsome Invulnerability (a not-so-cool Epic moment) doesn't grant charges if you havent spent them.
- Unstoppable Fury triggers correctly on all misses now.
- Broken destinies and yet we have to pay close to 100k to reset the tree
- Healing nerfed
- Epic monster spell casters now are less lethal. Why on earth? Epic normal and elite were fine. Buff epic hard instead!
- Fixed the point ability at 24 without giving an option to get it.
- Attack boost Enhancments nerfed
- Healing nerfed
- Epic moments resetting at every shrine, quest entrance, through portals, everywhere!
- Lucidity nerfed to give just +3 UMD
- Healing nerfed
And I'm sure there are some epic destinies' bugs out there that I don't know about.
I seriously hope this patch doesn't go live like this. We are in the Lama forum, this is our feedback. Don't put this to live devs or all you will do is show us that you can't take our feedback seriously or you don't care at all.
This 'nerf' if true would be the most reckless thing Turbine has done thus far, and so far out there in the realm of plausibility that I can only draw two conclusions from it.
One: Its a very, very late April Fool's joke gone horribly wrong, or
Two: A blizzard spy has infiltrated the upper echelons at Turbine, intent on destroying the game.
Either way the situation is serious now. If half the population leaves over this, and with no healers left in the game except the terrible hireling AI, then the game will indeed collapse in short order. Mission accomplished.
So the way I read the notes is and as people have already posted in other posts that it is being clerified in descriptions.
As far as I understand the half power from numbers and testing guildies and I have done is already in game for heal and mass.
So we have be using it since mod dropped and now people are screaming because they post it in notes now?
Seriously, heal and mass are fine even at half power if geared and have decent feats. If not then that's more a build and gear issue.
To me healing is fine if not better on some spells than before and actually mass had very few things that boosted it before and now we can boost it with spell power isn't that better than before?
Seriously, clear me up if wrong but that's how I read the notes.
Proud Officer of The Madborn
People are irritated because what they thought to be a bug is now confirmed as a stealth nerf. For people who like evokers or the like, it may not even be that healing isn't hitting hard enough (I don't have my evoker capped as a FvS due to being a sorc working on Epic Destinies, so I can't confirm), but the problem for several people (such as me) is that it keeps seeming to us that Turbine seems to think that divines should ONLY heal...and that it's not worth playing a gimped caster that winds up mostly only healing when you can play a wizard or sorc instead.
