healing is one place that definitely does not need nerfing. you really think epic hard cakewalks are due to the ease of healing? don't nerf it, and stop wasting your time on stuff that doesn't need fixing or that nobody cares about.

I think I will TR all my healers into druids, sorcs, wizzzes. All self healing, no need for those pesky SP pot chugging toons. Good luck to the melee!

Only now mentioning this nerf is really sleazy.

The whole healing nerfing stuff really ticks me off. I totally disagree with the idea of getting rid of clerics and fvs. There are people that enjoy playing them. In Dungeons and Dragons, which this was based off of at one time, the healer was your best friend. The idea was to have a group that worked together. Now it is to see how fast you can run through things to get favor and items to TR to the next whatever. Screw your party members they are on their own, get it done, move on, get more. I fall into the group that is here to play to enjoy it, not just run through. I have a variety of toons and several that are multi-classed. I had enjoyed my healers and had no problem being the healer and helping with undead. Now, not sure what is next for those healing toons. Why the need to nerf the clerics when you upgraded the monsters, is beyond me, but it is done for now. I hope it gets readjusted, at least a bit more towards fair. So many classes were nerfed, and some to the point I am pretty sure we lost guild members over it. Which if it is all about money as many suggest, why would you do things that cause people to leave the game? Can't get money from someone who deleted it all.

This is an indescribably awful change. Not just the nerf to heals but especially the nerf to divine damage spells. You might as well have just put in the patch notes "Clerics and FvS will no longer be fun to play. Don't bother logging onto these characters anymore. Roll an arcane if you don't want to suck." Because that's what it means to me.

My favorite character is an evocation FvS, but I've barely bothered playing him since the expansion because his spells seem so weak. Even the spell power enhancements in Exalted Angel don't seem to do anything noticeable. I was waiting on the fix for all this because surely it was just another bug, so I've been focusing mostly on my ranger until now. I can't play my barb either, since he's warforged. I guess the joke's on me again.

I did run him through the first two new quest chains and felt very underpowered at everything. Congratulations Turbine - you've successfully gutted my character's fun factor.

It seems we all are just to stupid to understand Turbines REAL intention.

This is finally a buff to Warforged. After all WF Melees will still have someone in the party that can throw them a "heal"...

Only special Gold Seal hirelings found in the DDO store can be used in raids. Only 2599tp each! Buy now! It's not like there's anyone else who'll be healing your precious raid.

I would expect to see this very soon. I have never seen how a divine hireling performs first hand (I've never had a need for one), but from what I've heard they have a tendency to do some odd things from time to time. I'm sure we'll soon be treated to Youtube vids of divine hirelings in DDO raids. I can't wait. I just bought a fresh bag of popcorn!

    Genuinely disappointed!

    I have a cleric 19/Ft 1 and bard 16/Rog 2/Ft 2/epic 2

Cleric takes a hit in healing and light based DoT capacity, while Bard takes a hit with displace, ardor clickies, FoM being nerfed.

Tell me again the name of the new Game (either released or soon to be) that is more D&D based.

Neverwinter MMO is coming out if you want to stay in the D&D universe...

I'd hate to throw my lot in with the conspiracy theorist but I bet dedicated healers are the biggest consumer of DDO store SP pots... so less effective heals mean more SP needed and potentially more pots bought... along with melees buying heal pots... just seems to make alot of financial sense....

All they are doing now is stating it in the description, not reducing out spell power further as of this patch, right?

If thats the case i can deal with it (not happily), if they are reducing further than it already has been, i think i need some of what they be smoking............
The issue here is that the assumption was that this was some kind of bug.

The fact that it's in the notes indicates that it's WAI and won't get fixed.

    Which is asinine.

What's frustrating is that I still enjoy the content of this game. Quest design is spectacular.

But whoever is in charge of balancing things has apparently taken a few shots to the head.

Played my fvs some today for the first time in a while. Once I regeared some I have to say I didn't really find healing any worse, found my BB to be about the same but my DP was way down.

With that being said this is still a nerf overall as it now takes more to get the same output. Playing a sorc and 2 dps toons all of which have seen a huge boost with all the new stuff, I just can't imagine why healers got nerfed.

So is there a complete list of nerfed spells?
I haven't heard yet if cometfall took anything, although it's trip ability should be just the same (haha...it should be the same...)

    So far i've tested:
All light spells : -Silver Fire, DP, Nimbus of light,

Healing spells : - heal , mass heal

    - Fvs Archon Sla.

All of those spells above are cut down by 50% ,however cometfall looks untouched by nerf.

    Fight Club!!!11one1!

Please edit this post and remove all reference to Cometfall before a dev notices and shuts the servers down for an "emergency patch" tomorrow. Clerics everywhere will thank you

I still cannot understand why Divine spells only get 0.5% per Spell Power point when everything else gets 1%. Makes no sense whatsoever...

I really dont see the rationale behind this nerf when it a) kills the elegant simplicity of the Spellpowersystem, and b) comes together with a expansion where Mobs hit for at least double as much then before.
Now a Barbarian needs two healers just for himself on epic elite.
Solo/shortman with friends guildies...its the way to go...the nerf to heals wont effect my FVS healing himself or 1 or 2 good friends Im running with...It will however effect my ability to spot heal a full party or puggers doing what most puggers do. I hardly ever pugged my FVS in the past...and now that attitude is just fully reinforced.

    lol. Typical.

Well clerics were seriously over powered to begin with. I mean having all that power to decide if 11 other raid members will complete or not? It's tooo much!

    /Sarcasm

This healing nerf coupled with that ugly epic destiny, lol...

Thats what they call "balance" between classes.

At first Exalted Angel got 150 sp on first innate + 100 per destiny level. They adjusted down for "balance purposes" to 50 sp + 50 sp per level. Now they adjust down the spell power on divines, while a Sorcerer in Draconic can hit with his destiny 5K+ of damage, a guildie did 8958 acid damage to one mob. I see it totally balanced...

Talking about balance between classes... why Fury of the wild/Sentinel get 100 HP, dreadnought 60 HP on innates and the rest of melees dont get any? Where is the balance?

    Reasoning is clear:
Healers are more likely to drink mana-pots when out of sp in a raid. Mana pots are sold in the ddo store. Increasing costs of healing parties/raids = more mana pots sold in store. Win.

Nevermind that no one will be around to actually buy those pots.

I used to be miffed that this game was never mentioned in most gaming magazines (Game Informer, etc) in their MMO section. Now I see why, and I'm happy it isn't. I could not tell a friend of mine to start playing this game in its current state.

At this point I'm hanging on just for something to do and waiting for my sub. to run out. This fall I'll try out the new Neverwinter Nights MMO or a little later the skyrim MMO. And here's the clincher: DDO is the only MMO I've played. The thanks we get for loyalty: A giant middle finger.
