this healing nerf is just really dumb. why on earth do you think half spell power was ever a good idea. also why target just light spells. oh thanks turbine. this one time im against you.

nerfing from AGAIN seriously stop changing it. soon it wont even be worth anything as a spell. i can tell you a lot of people are going to be VERY ****ed if the changes go through

It sounds like they know they can't fix it, or can't fix it easily and just now made an excuse for it.

And if they really are trying to get divines to buy more sp pots, hell no. First, I've never been in a party when someone told me to chug a pot, with the exception that if someone gives a pot to me, I'll use it. Maybe it's because my only real healer has been a spellsinger (and a paladin up to about level 7-8 or so) and people know I get regeneration (although I suspect if people really knew that they would ask for some sp themselves), or if they want me to drink a pot often I get them free.

And another thing, don't take something away from people and expect them to buy it back from you. Really, if someone stole your stuff, would you buy it from the person who stole it or from a store who had nothing to do with the theft?

... Okay so 1st we get random loot because you guys "know how much we like it", then now you nerf healing.

Let me repeat it, maybe it'll sound less insane. You. Nerfed. Healing! The Hell is wrong with you guys?!?

What will that do? Oh not much.

First even LESS puging on divines, because as we all know there were already WAY too many divines puging...

Second, even more stress on healers, I don't know what your crack team of testers told you guys but making the game harder by putting more pressure on healers is not a smart move, not even close. Don't believe me? Remember when you made old epics harder by increasing the bosses hps? Only healers felt the pain everyone else was back to business as usual and epics where returned to normal.

Third, forcing heal-bots. This is a big one, making healing harder results in a higher need of specializing on healing to be any good at it, if this "epic nerf" remains expect a ton of divines to stop playing their toons and DDO to turn into "waiting on Healer Online".

I don't know what reason lead Turbine to do this, maybe an unforeseen destiny increasing healing far too much or some other unknown cause. But what ever it was, NERFING HEALING IS NOT THE WAY TO FIX IT!!!

It may be the easy way to fix the problem, but it sure as Hell aint the right one...

Some of the game design decisions recently have been just plain bizarre.

I for one am glad I no longer play a Cleric or Favored Soul, even though my FvS was once my favorite character to play. No point in TRing into a Druid at least; they've been nerfed before even being truly tested. Bye bye Bard, even less reason to play that as well.

I played a couple of different MMOs before this one, which had the same incompetent design that DDO is going down; making healers only capable of healing. I actually rolled one once. Within moments, I was bombarded with messages, offering loot, money, real life money, just to come join with people.

By the way, neither MMO exists anymore. They've failed.

My guess is there wasn't a lot of "thinking" involved, something closer to a "mindless reaction" probably, but certainly not thinking of any sort.

haha isn't that the truth. i think if more people knew what was coming they would be like *** why on earth would you nerf classes like that.

    Market appeal--
Turbine has now installed some very nice, potent sp pots, and Heal pots in the ddo store, and since divine casters now compete with direct sales from the DDO store, then Divine casting gets a 50% nerf to reinforce the "market" appeal of the new pots....

    Game Balance--
The handy consequence of rating each specific spell output, to each specific class, is it empowers the devs with a tool to now "balance" the game better..... not to "balance" in the sense of creating a level playing field that gives all players equal access to make a potential contribution to quest completion, no, not in that sense, but rather "balance" in the sense of creating *market demand* in the DDO store...in other words, "you have a "balance" in your banks account, so pay us money if you want to contribute to quest completion in the game" <--that is the sort of "game balance" we are looking at here.

In general, divines are handicapped by the high AP costs for less effect when it comes to spell amplification, compared to arcane classes.

Divines are also burdened with being held responsible in alot of parties for their fellow's HP bars.

Do they really need to be cut down like this? Do they really?

Just to get this clear, the cure spells aren't being nerfed and it's just heal and mass heal (and maybe radiant servant abilities)?

Yes, only the ones that are an efficient use of your sp are been nerfed, the crappy "only-use-when-it-hits-the-fan-because-it-drains-sp-faster-then-a-stepmother-can-drain-confidence" are untouched.

Also Burst/Aura, basically anything that allowed to save some sp for offensive casting or anything other then healing is been cut in half.

Ok tell me if im wrong here, this is a cosmetic change only at this point, as the change has already been in from u14.
All they are doing now is stating it in the description, not reducing out spell power further as of this patch, right?

If thats the case i can deal with it (not happily), if they are reducing further than it already has been, i think i need some of what they be smoking............

Therefore, the *contribution* that a player on a divine caster toon is potentially able to bring to the table is cut in half relative to the *full* contribution from other classes....

is that what you pay your turbine subscription for?
is that what you play DDO for?

Segregation is a really nifty concept, particularly when it reinforces the new Pay2win Bypass spellpoint potions and Heal potions in the DDO store.

I would also like to the add the following: if you have a melee WF and this looks like it will hit live, Tr into a fleshy or re-roll.

I get the feeling that anything with less then max amp is not gonna be allowed to get into the thick of things...

You are correct. The bug we were hoping would be fixed with this update is instead being confirmed as WAI.

Yup, new to Turbine's wall of shame: "We don't fix bugs anymore, we make them WAI, it's quicker and WAY cheaper"
