    Default Von5 Elite 4-Man Bravery

So, Last Night a friend decided he needed to get VON5 elite done before he capped and had to lvl to 13. My TR'd Fighter has been waiting for a chance to do this so I decided to join him. At this point, the party was Me on Jhogo (Lvl 12 Ftr), Divinelag (Lvl 12 Cleric), my GF playing Aldanna (Lvl 12 Ranger). Divinelag posted the lfm and right away we got 3 Hits. The first was a friend on his Lvl 12 FvS, the second was a fighter (can't remember level), and the 3rd was a 9 Arti/2 Rog (Nanotech).

We decided we had all of our major bases covered (Str Levers, Wis Runes, Traps) and decided we would get started and leave the lfm up to fill while we cleared. Then the fighter DC's, we wait a few for him/her to come back and when that doesn't happen, they are dismissed. We go to our ship to rebuff and realize that our FvS is afk on the ship and has been quiet for a while. We go on without him and figure he can catch up when he returns. Shortly after entering the quest, he DC's due to inactivity. The party is now: Jhogo, Dvinelag, Aldanna, Nanotech. We begin by clearing the puzzle room and discover we won't get conquest because the WF are stuck in the tubes. After that we clear Otto's Room and I grab the ring.

We head to the north hallway. After several deaths due to lack of ref save, Nanotech gets most of the traps disabled and we all get in place to hit levers. Ultimately we have to send Aldanna to hit the ranged on the Right side and then let her in on the left afterward. Divine and Aldanna get the Levers on the Bridge while I take the voice and ring to clear the left side and Nanotech works on clearing the right side. After the wheels are set and the breakers thrown we realize that nano can't get the STR lever for the breaker and his Iron Defender is Dead. Divinelag jumps off the second lever and goes to raise his dog and then they kill the golems and we get the coffer and kill the rusty (Pretty Uneventful).

Now we head south. We manage to get the fire jets the first time and Aldanna shoots up and gets the first lever hit for us. At the top of the ladder Nano can't find the traps and so Divinelag runs to the other side and dies. I raise him and then Nano and I run through ourselves. We eventually make our way to the top. I use bells of opening on the locked doors because I know nano won't survive to pick them. We have his dog hit the first to start the traps and then I run through and get the last one just in time to get killed by the trap.

Against all odds, we have made it to the Boss on Elite VON 5 in a bravery group. I am fully expecting us to fall at this late stage. I assign Aldanna to Kiting the Boss while Nano and I take out the dogs. Divinelag chooses to throw up bbs and heal us. And then something Amazing Happens. The dogs go down, the boss goes down and I realize we just 4-manned Von5 Elite, with no proper evasion characters and no Caster. It was an amazingly long run (108 minutes), but it was worth it to say we did it. The 55k xp was also not bad.

So, once again thank you to those who stuck with it and got this done with me.

That is TERRIBLY awesome! At level VON5 is harrowing enough as is with a full party. Congratulations, all!

Congrats on the victory, it shows that you don't need a lot to succeed on this raid. I saw the post up last night but my Druid was not flagged yet (and still level 10)

As for the stuck wf in the tubes, your artificer can use inflict x damage to kill the stuck ones, in the one von I tried, it seems like the start dropping after the first stuck one dies.

That was such a fun, intense run! I thought we were going to die painfully at so many different spots, but we all hung together and made it through. Awesome job leading, Jhogo! And I particularly loved the fighter ressing the cleric after dying in the spike traps, so the cleric could res him back as he ran through em lol. Now aren't you glad I twisted your arm for that VON? Even at the end, when that golem was chasing and beating on me and I thought for SURE this was it! Just ran around the pillars dropping BBs and bursting waiting to die lol, and then then suddenly everything was dead! Definitely one of the craziest, most fun runs of VON I've ever done. Thanks, Jhogo, Aldanna, and Nanotech! Incredible run!

That's a shame, would have loved to have had you along. I did a short man VON 5 with you once on my monk, Dramamama, and a very smooth completion it was indeed that I still remember. Wish I'd known that about the Inflict, I'll definitely have to keep it in mind in the future, because I've seen that happen a couple times now. Thanks for the heads up!

Between that and the late hour (between 1 and 4 am for party members) we decided to leave the dragon for another day.
