    Post Tracking Player Accounts

One of my biggest problems/gripes with the game system is the inability for the officers or guild leaders to determine all the characters of one account that are within the guild.

Now I can understand why it is hidden, but recently we have a member that has been vocally putting down members and the guild. This activity is unwarranted and unwanted, and short of going thought the path of contacting DDO and launching a formal complaint which the person would have to say something very harsh, there is really nothing that can be done.

That seems to be one of the biggest problems with DDO, we cannot determine the account of the characters, so if you have a problem member it is hard routing them out once and for all. This is something that developers really should/need to address.

What I am suggesting is the option when kicking a character out of the guild that, we can kick all their characters at the same time. Such as kick the account from the guild option. This would still protect their anonymity and give the guild leaders proper recourse when someone is not be respectful and they need to get the big old boot.

Also, the ability to band the account from the airship would be nice, I don’t want the person coming on the ship especially if they are there just to cause more problems.

    Just my random thoughts!

I hope this is an appropriate area to post this message.

Our guild doesn't allow any new players unless thoroughly vetted and for existing members who want to have an alt added, we have to add the new character to our guild roster which shows who each character belongs to. Of course the guild roster has to be kept on another site since we can't keep track in game. This is just a suggested work around until something is implemented in game to help out guild leaders. It has worked reasonably well for us as it also allows us to keep track of which toons need to be trimmed from the guild for long inactivity and which are just alts that aren't being played very much or that have been converted to mules by active members.

I dont understand why it is hidden.
There is no reason to separate a toon from an account a guild, just makes it more difficult to figure out who is who.

I would suggest having the guild roster shows playername/account name.
Dont want others to know your alts... then dont put them in the guild.

Then change /squelch to be account name oriented, this would make squelching incompatable players easier instead of individually figuring out each of that persons alts.

Also easier to eliminate a person from a guild instead of having residual alts lingering below decks..

Sounds good to me. Sounds way better than players having to create their own google doc which lists every character in guild and all alts, and keep it updated EVERY SINGLE DAY.

    We need more guild controls.

Airship bannings, and removal by account sound like an excellent start.

I'd propose an ability for guild leaders to view renown per player and account as well.

And watch now, what happens to this post. Sorry about that.

simple solution: boot them one by one. There is no need to know every character on the account.
If a character is making problems, remove them. If they're out there running in pugs talking smack about
their own guild, word will get back to you and then boot them. Don't worry, you won't be penalized with multiple
renown penalties because the system doesn't work that way. I'm not going to go off topic like a previous poster
and try to derail/troll the thread.

Not a fan of the power trip that some players and guild leaders go on(control freaks). recruit folks the right way, don't be
a clown, and the above should be fine for ya. No need to waste (dev) time and resources to correct mistakes
    made by officers and leaders.

I dunno about account name (it's hidden to make hacking a specific person harder I imagine), but there's always the forum/myddo name that all of a player's character's can be linked to and shown without any(?) problems.
At the very least an account could be assigned a number when they join a guild and just display that account's number next to each character on that account in the guild list (doesn't take up much space, doesn't require them to have set a forum/myddo name).

Doesn't help with people who have multiple accounts though =P But, there's not much that can be done about that.

That's acceptable to me - I was thinking they'd just pick the first created toon as the 'guild account name' - but a number would be fine as well; because you're right, we don't want our account names in there.
