Can't reconnect to Turbine for an hour after exiting the game or being disconnected

I've had this chronic problem ever since DDO got Update... 11, I think it is?

It's been going on for awhile, though it's not a 100% occurrence. It's closer to 90% occurrence.

I'll exit out of the game, or get disconnected, and then try to log back in.

And then it fails.

It happens no matter which game I exit out of or get disconnected from. DDO affects LOTRO and vice versa.

In a word, it's annoying. It means server-hopping is no longer feasible.

The time it happens seems to be random, too. Sometimes it resolves in half an hour. Sometimes, the problem still persists two hours later. It's hard to tell at times.

Considering I don't see too many other people complain about this problem, it obviously exists on my end. What can I do to fix this?

I don't know what information to provide. I'm running Broadband internet, connected to it wirelessly (and yet I tend to have good ping, so it's working for me) Might I need to open a port? Or perhaps there's a setting somewhere? I'm using Windows' native firewall, as well, so if I need to make a modification there, I can.

EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention is that this only affects Turbine games. I can play, say, Allods Online, quit out of it, and log back in no problem. Same for any other MMO. It's just Turbine's servers that give me grief.

The fact that you are saying you sometimes get DC'ed further supports connection issues, there can be many causes of 'em.

I'm no expert at connection issues of this type - I think other people in this forum will have lots of ideas, but they'll want you to post your DxDiag report to show what devices and drivers are on your system.

Did you change any hardware around the time it started - new video card, new sound card, new gamepad, or did you start any new security or file sharing software?

Almost nothing new before or after Update 11.

The only thing I can think of is we got a new modem relatively recently, but do believe the problem existed BEFORE that, so that variable didn't change anything.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that occasionally disconnecting is a problem I've had for everything, and an acceptable, albeit frustrating problem. It's the whole "Can't reconnect for an hour or so" aspect that gets to me right now.
