Lottery ???

I don't seem to be able to enter the Lottery any more.. Are they just gone or is this a bug ??

just checked, i was able to see a lasting heroism and a cannith crafting part lottery.

not sure why you're getting nothing showing up at all. i might have guessed that it was level range or class-based (eg you only see lotteries to win exp pots if you're not 20, you only see lotteries to win cleric spell components if you're a cleric, etc), but... you can't be the wrong level or class to get cannith crafting components. unless maybe they didn't update it for level 21+ characters... do you both by any chance have no level 20 or lower characters?

(or possibly you just checked in between them removing the old and posting the new, i suppose)

We have done some work over the past 24 hours that - should - allow many players who were unable to enter the DDO Lotteries recently due to this "blank screen" issue to enter the lotteries again. However, this will not resolve long-standing issues with my.ddo nor the DDO Lottery system, and will not solve the problem for all people.

As always, while we do offer the ability to "enter all" in the DDO Lottery, the best way to ensure that the proper characters win lotteries, and to help prevent this "blank screen" bug, is to not use the "enter all" functionality. This bug is caused (in part) by your lottery entry history list getting too large, so entering fewer characters will prevent this from happening for some people.

I haven't been able to enter lotteries for quite sometime. Now I understand that my altoholism has caused this problem ... it truly is a wicked disease.

I'm getting this also, in-game + firefox + opera

I have tried to use the dashboard to uninstall (and re-install) the lottery widget and cannot as it fails to load on that page also.

Would it be possible to get that widget reset? Just displays the word 'lottery', an no buttons to edit

MyAdmin > Appearance > Widgets
If I change the 'current widgets' to show center column, it works fine.
Current widgets = left column, fails to load all.

Maybe the history could be automatically trimmed, or even better remove the message if the item/reward has been picked up, or expired.

Why don't you cut down the length of the lottery notification list to 1 month, or whatever the duration is on an item sent in the mail? There's no need for me to see that my character won a lotto 3 months ago.

Yah now that they know, that would make sense. Still, if you look back at the original launch and the fact that they "never delete your characters", they hadda store all that data out of abundance of caution (plan for the worst, fix later).

Now that the team's finding some of these that no longer make sense, they can do just this kind of cleanup.

FYI: I use this script natively on Chrome and Firefox and converted it into a link to use in IE9. Works great in all three browsers.

I use the scripts (which filter out all the entries that are more than 21 days old since unread mail expires after 21 days) but the lottery stopped working for me a few weeks ago. It still does not work for me after the changes today.

I think that eventually MyDDO fails for everyone (that is the Turbine way). I just cherish the time we had together and all the neat stuff I won.

Thank you... I will go try now as I was one of the affected. Out of curosity...what was that cause for the blank screen? Or is it simply too much history.... Which imo should be trimmed automatically.

For me it is the same blank screen, regardless of if I use single character entry or account wide. The error happens even on a 4th level character that has exactly 1 winning entry in the history.

Unfortunately, if you are still not able to access the DDO Lottery, then the issue is different from the one we fixed this week, and will take further investigation to resolve. We can look into it, but at this time I have no ETA on when a resolution will be available.
