    Default Epic Healer Hirelings

Could someone please look at the spell selection for the epic healer hirelings?

They do not have the ability to raise dead players. This is a problem for me as I like exploring new content solo and I'm very good at dying. The level 23 one doesn't have heal either (can't remember the others), so can do nothing about all the poison that the game now spams you with.

The AI does not automatically raise the dead - I jumped down a ravine (curiosity killed the rogue) and appeared at the zone in dead. My hirelings appeared next to me and did nothing. I couldn't get a raise and hadn't found a shrine yet. Had to release. It's a shame to think that a level 9 hireling is functionally superior to a level 22 hireling.

Ideally there'd be a hireling with heal, resurrection, deathward and Freedom of movement on their spell list. Now that would be epic.

Bottom line - I'm sticking to Albus.

3/4 are also missing the Heal spell even if they cast it automatically when you are low on health. I like to set them passive and heal manually when I need it but as of now, I can't do it with epic hires.

    Tempys ftw!

The Lvl 21 FavSoul is also pretty awful:

    1. She has Cure Crit on her bar {or is it Cure Serious?} - This is insane!

    2. She has Energy Drain on her bar YET HAS to be TOLD to USE it and it barely works in Amrath Slayer.

    3. She insists on Meleeing - Seriously?! When her Bar and description sets her up as a Death Priest!!!

If they fix the Summons I think I'd stick with Klin and his Hezrou over Albus, Wyoh or the Lvl 21 FS Hire {Selis}.

I actually like Wyoh - You just have to get used to making her use Implosion!

I took a look at the Epic Hires descriptions and I'm not at all impressed.

Why exactly is every one of the Epic Divines a FavSoul?

We get ONE Epic Ranger Hire - Lvl 23! Who really is going to call a Ranger Hire at this point?
Make him Lvl 21 and sort his Bar out and people may actually use him!

Lose the Fighter, Barb Epic Hires and replace them with useful Bards, Paladins {NOT TANKS} and Rogues {Mechs with full X-Bow Spec}.
Lose the Epic FavSouls and Replace them with Epic Clerics!!!

P.S. Why on Earth is EVERY SINGLE Hireling Paladin a Shield Blocking waste of space?

I agree. Having used Wyoh and Albus for a while, I was looking forward to getting a Lvl21 healer hire - got to be loads better, right? Definitely wrong. I was disppointed that there was no cleric and Selis was abysmal. Her only hotbar heal is a Cure Serious - not even critical and not mass. She also has a much smaller HP level than Albus. Definitely I am not hiring her again!

I have got used to Wyoh and so long as I keep her alive she will rez me when I die

One of the FvS has Death Pact, and that is truly Epic for a hireling. Now they can rez themselves!

I would like to have customizable hirelings -- at all levels. PICK the 4 abilities they can use from a list and save the choices so they are there each time you summon that particular hireling. One hireling of each class every 1-3 levels, eliminate the multiples of same class at level. In addition, be able to set their mode of attack. IE: use melee, ranged, or spell attacks when set to defensive or aggressive.

They wouldnt need to have ALL of the abilities/spells of their classes to choose from, but they should have a healthy range of the most popular ones, assuming adequate levels, as a base package. (All arcanes would have rage/haste/GH to choose from, all divines would have Heal, etc.)

Perhaps the interface would be a DDO store item. One purchase unlocks the customization on all toons, all servers on the account, and would work with all hirelings, regardless of level or class. Specific non-popular spells/abilities could be upgrades -- or sold in "ability/spell packages". Maybe even sell additional slots.

This all of course assumes they fix the hireling AI to begin with, so that they act like they have even a hint of a clue in a quest.

Customizable hirelings = always have whatever spells you want (up to 4 -- or more if you buy them) and no more angst over poorly laid out hireling bars by devs.

I support the idea of behavior choices:

    Talk options of:

    I. What to Focus on: Melee, Ranged, Healing/Buffing, Offensive Casting/Debuff. etc.
II. Where they should position themselves in a battle: Short, Medium, Long distance. etc.
III. Their level of aggroing mobs: Keep it low, Hit everything she sees, etc
IV. Targeting, whom they should definitely target: Lowest HP mobs - weakened, Highest hp mobs - uninjured., Bosses, Casters, etc.

These calls would make them very useful, granted they follow your directions .

    This would be fantastic.

'Target Lowest %HP' might actually make melee hirelings non-useless.

I'd also add a toggled CR cap on what monsters specific hirelings will stand toe-to-toe with. I don't mind Wyoh standing toe-to-toe with CR 21 mobs in Epic Normals, but CR 48 mobs can one-shot a hireling. (Not that you'd use one in an epic elite but still)
