Default Create an In-Game Player's Handbook

If you're going to throw the original 3.5 players handbook out the window, please write another. God forbid someone new should join ths game thinking they would get a chance to go online to play some real D&D only to find what we have now. Not that what it was becoming was close to D&D anyway.

    Put it in-game.

    Have only staff write it.

Give it a glossary etc. exactly like all player's handbooks before it.

Us old guys are fond of our player's handbooks and would like to be able to read up on, find, and understand the rules of the game in one single place instead of relying on multiple threads, simplified release notes, and the dubious information given out by various players.

After all you did bother to put in a Monster Manual.

It's a good idea in theory, but you want this written by the same folks that can't get the item descriptions in game right? Also there would have to be updates to the handbook every update. Now I'm not saying it's not a good idea. I would love an ingame handbook, but if it's going to be incomplete and full of mistakes, I'll take a pass. It would have to be 100% accurate for it to be useful at all. In game it take 6 months + to get item descriptions changed to be accurate and some like striding are still wrong. There is no way they can get a full handbook correct. Heck, I'm still waiting for them to "fix" Docent of Defiance and Madstone Boots and take away the abilities that aren't listed.

Well the Compendium is KIND of like that... But the DDOwiki is much better

A good amount of information is out there... The problem is most people don't want to bother... I can't even tell you how many I've pointed to the Wiki, who won't bother to actually use it... Heck, you can't even get the majority of players to read the release notes for each patch/update. They woudl rather sapm guild chat or general chat wiht inane questions for people THAT do read such things to waste their time answering.

That is why I would want it to be in game which basically the compendium (completely useless) and Wiki are not although Redspecter23 is probably right. It would need to be frequently updated. Even though the compendium can be reached in game so many times anything searched out on it just leads to a dead end.

If you are new to the game creating a player's handbook written as all of the player's handbooks before it were will give you most of what is needed to be known. If you are not new to the game it will give you a good tool that can be used easily without reaching the dead ends the compendium does.
