...with the option of having some decent fire damage on the side. Fire spells aren't quite as gimp now as they were when endgame was largely devil content. But yes, the combustion part is the kicker on the weapon, not the main focus. Could be pretty nice for a pale master who uses DBF or meteor swarm occasionally when instakills are on cooldown. If it was Impulse, I'd keep it myself for my fvs. I still might.

Did they nerf the base value of random loot? 9200pp is less than normal lvl 16 weapons IIRC. Its definately less than random loot lvl 18-20 weapons (or what they use to be before the expansion, haven't been high enough level to pull one since).

Yeah they did, severely and without any comment, either directly from a dev or in any release notes. Now all loot - weapons, armor, accessories - have the same base value at the same level, normalized to more or less what the value of armor was prior to the update.
