Default Feat granted from epic destiny

Unyielding sentinel 1 grants the diehard feat.
Can I use this granted feat as a pre-req for heroic enhancements?

Coz I am switching my pally to DoS (which requires one of the feats including diehard), but the enhancement window says I don't have that feat, even though I just gained it through Unyielding Sentinel.
(And the feat is up in my character sheet)

If you are retraining a feat from a certain level (by the PnP rules), you have to pretend that you're back at that level again.

Seeing as you didn't have the epic destiny back then, you didn't have Diehard either.

The possibility of doing it the way you are trying to it probably why Fred was abducted, since it possibly meant being able to take epic-level feats instead of heroic-level feats by retraining.

The level you gain a feat shouldn't matter for PrE requisites--I can take Shield Mastery at L18 on a fighter (for example), reset my enhancements, and pick up Stalwart Defender as soon as I've met the AP requirements to unlock it.

More likely, since destinies aren't tied to your class levels (beyond needing 20 total to unlock them), feats granted by destinies don't count for purposes of qualifying for feats or heroic enhancements. While it's not true to PnP rules, plenty of other things aren't either, and I'd guess that an ED not qualifying you for a heroic PrE is probably WAI.

The mention of Fred in this context makes me wonder if what's broken is that feats granted by EDs were showing up as feats that were allowed to be changed.

What was broken with Fred on Lamma Land was that attempting to use him crashed the client. His absence probably has nothing to do with balance.

I think it has more to do with the fact that you can change your epic destiny which would remove the feat. So unless you want changing epic destinies to also reset heroic enhancements, much like how changing feats with fred resets enhancements, then this would be WAI behavior to keep people from having a pre that they no longer meet the pre-reqs for.
