    Default Ftr x / Monk x / Wiz x

    Hi All

I have come back to the game after a couple of years break and have looked at some of my characters and wondered "what was the goal here?" lol

One that I like is my halfling Ftr 3 / Monk 3 / Wiz 1..... I believe it was a build originally posted by EinarMal but I can't seem to find it again. I "think" it was supposed to be Ftr 12 / Monk 7 / Wiz 1 for max empowered heals and lots of feats & good AC but just not sure.

Anyhow, the game has changed so much I was wondering if the build idea is still relevent or whether there might be a different route to take this character. i.e. monk 12 / ftr 7 / wiz 1??

    Thanks in advance

12monk/7fighter/1wiz could certainly still work, presumably would be ninja spy with dragonmarks for self-healing, the wizard bonus feat to boost them & then fighter could be either kensai for a boost to DCs or stalwart defender for general durability bonuses.. instead of wizard, a cleric level would let you take empower healing (which also works on the Heal dragonmark), or a single level of artificer would let you max out UMD for a variety of scrolls.

I've made a dragonmarked elf version of this here http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=369260 which could be a good starting point.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

Wizard gives a handy feat in addition to opening up the metamagics if you were going to use the DMs. Wizard also gives Pro Evil and Shield as spells, which now last 5 minutes.

I actually have a WF Monk 7 (ninja) / Fighter 12 (kensai or SD) / Wizard 1 that I recently leveled. He worked pretty darn well (and still does) as a tactics build, or can swap to SD to tank in a pinch, though with the AC / etc. pass I'm not entirely sure on the gear I'll need to collect for that.

I've considered arti for the dip on life 2+ (still fighter focused). The new increased minimum durations means scrolling up handy buffs may not be a problem. I may also drop Monk to 6 and go Arti 2 for the dog. Downside is people probably expect I could do traps, which I don't think I'd be able to do.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane

Thanks for the replies. Are there any suggestions around feats? Tactical feats maybe?

I'm at work so can't remember the exact build but probably

    Str 16 + level ups
Dex 15 (+2 tome for twf chain)
    Con 14
    Int 10
    Wis 14
    Cha 8

    3 x DMs
    3 x TWF
    Maximise
    Empower or Empower Healing
    Toughness
    Power Attack
    Dodge
    Combat expertise (maybe)

I have a free respec if need be

    Thanks

    Default Link to the build.

I think the build you're talking about is probably the HHHH, here's the link: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=260560
I used to play one and I enjoyed it immensely, but since I TR'd it I don't know about it's viability today.

I still play one as one of my alts. I don't know how optimum it is, but it is still very playable and fun.

I know I probably missed the boat on this trend, but I'm building a 12wiz/6monk/2fighter who is up to 9/3/0 right now, and I'm enjoying him a lot. He's going to be a vampire monk. What he lacks in hit-dice he makes up for with casting buffs and non-save spells. plus he'll be able to cast tenser's transformation and get hit "to-hit" bonus as high as possible once he gets 11 wiz levels.

I started him with all monk stats 32 pt build:
    16/15/15/8/14/8

So his DCs and his SP pool are really low, and I had to get a +2 INT tome so i could cast in Zombie form while leveling.... (and +2 dex for gTWF) but now that tomes stay with you through TR there isn't much hesitation to use them.

Anyways, it's a novelty build, but I've REALLY enjoyed playing him thus far. Just an idea if you wanna go in a toatlly different direction.
