    Default What happen to Displacement?

I just got though playing my first round of the new updates and I noticed I couldn't cast Displacement on an friend. I was absolutely horrified to find out that they altered Displacement to just self now!!!! What the heck, why make this change?

I am getting sick and tired of of the Wizard spells getting nerfs like this. As an Arcane I commonly cast displacement on friends and now I can't! I honestly do not know what to say here. I mean why would you make this kind of change. Since we are in the process of destroying spells why not make GH, Blur, Rage, and Haste all self now. If you going nerf one why not nerf them all.

I got even more ****ed when I read Wail of the Banshee new description? Is this even the same spell? First you nerf the cool down, and now you totally alter the spell. The spell should be renamed to Aura of Enervation.

I am just really sick of this. Is the metamagic feat Extend even useful anymore? It basically has been nerfed down to Buffs, and you just killed Displacement as well.

I am honestly thinking of just deleting this game now. I want Displacement rolled back to it's former glory, otherwise you are going to lose another customer. The Spell changes have just been progressively getting worse as more of these updates come out.

I liked the good old days when Extend was a useful feat, and could be used to extend combat spells. Now it's only use is for haste and thats it.

Didn't you know? Arcanes are totally OP and need bringing down a peg or two.

Too bad it's actually the melees who are getting hurt by this, but who cares about melees, amiright?
Those are not pebbles surrounding the urn filled with Human teeth. They are megaliths!

How does nerfing Displacement make casters less powerful? Honestly who sits down and says how can we balance casters and with melee. Oh I know lets restricted displacement to casters only????

Honestly how much longer until GW2 comes out so i can make the switch.

I think the problem is that it was never designed to be cast a near unlimited number of times. The nature of the MMO/DDO spell system did make it OP.

Personally, I think they should just make some spells vancian (i.e limited number of casts per rest.) Rather than nerf the spells, just limit their use a bit.

Than alter the AI to buff themselves with true seeing. Don't nerf the Spell. They created a whole Wizard pres on illusion. One of the perks was spell like displacement, it makes this absolutely useless. Fix the AIM don't nerf the spell.

Wouldn't that be a bigger nerf than what they did? Because then no one would get the the benefits of displacement, not even the arcanes. At least arcane casters still get the benefits now. Just sayin.

I think that since they gave tanks a big boost with the new armor class changes, they were afraid that adding displacement on top of that would be OP. So from that point of view the change to displacement makes some sense.

Bingo. Stacking miss chance is the issue.

So now instead of having a friendly arcane or bard cast the displacement, people can use their small + medium shroud ingredients to craft a 2/day 90 second displacement clicky. Make like 4 of them and have 12 minutes of displacement.

Why am I against the nerf?

Those of us Vets who have oodles of smalls and mediums laying around wont feel this anywhere near as hard as the newer players who havent farmed the bajesus out of shroud yet. It will cost us 4 inventory spaces to get our 50% miss chance back when its needed.

10% incorporeal + 15% dodge + Displacement = about a 65% miss even if the mob would hit your AC on a 2.

I've been popping 30 second scrolls like crazy and they work pretty well, some GS clickies look needed for long fights.

it's still a dumb change, Epic Elite mobs hit so hard that greatly improved hit avoidance wouldn't break the game.

I don't see how this would be worse. The AI currently casts the spell now. They just need to make this happen a little more often.

I am against it because I commonly run two toons at the same time, and I like this buff for end fights to help avoid some of the damage. The change basically makes yet another spell useless, and also insures I will never take extend again on my caster. Get ready for a lot more 2 min hastes.
