Also grab the UMD for Displace scrolls, its not hard even without it as a class skill and pays off when wading through the epic trash. (Has no arcane spell fail if you are interested in heavy armor+tower shield)
Honestly, if it wasn't comming in at the tail end, I woulda been more likely to go rogue (as well as dump dex and take insightful reflexes, until they inevitably put saves on the same system). Just seems wrong to roll one up that can't do the side-job as well.

it's actually kind of interesting I just hit 20 as a tank last week have 'ok' gear nothing super special other then my DT armor which became next to useless with mountain fullplate out
my DT armor with +4 ac insight bonus has only 1 more ac then +5 mountain plate with nothing and can still get stacked with +4 insight from something else lol I'm sure there are probably better armors out there for 20 but at level 16 mountain plate seems to be best now I got a +5 destruction mountain plate of command with ml 18 which seems to be perfect for grinding at 18 just need to find a decent set for ml 16 now to make my DT armor completely useless lol though still have the ooze guard cloth armor for lower ac builds that will be tough to beat.

before update I was at 75ac nothing special but it's good enough to still call myself a tank not epic but I have no epic gear but I've only been 20 a week on my tank. after the update my AC went up to 95 PRR 76 chance at defence 66%
so it seems my ac prr and defence which were subpar before are now very competitive with better geared tanks. with only 10% difference in chance at defence which while nice is not as critical as it use to be it seems. though still nice to get the epic gear it's nice though that you can be a tank without it easier though now as Tank was always one of the more gear intensive build types.

How are you getting that much PRR? What percentage of damage reduced does that actually work out to?

It's interesting you use this turn of phrase. Is THIS what the % chance to defend means - overall combined dmg mitigation? I am still trying to get a sliderule to be able to assign a single metric to this AC system...
