I see you are going for VoidIV. The only issue I would have would be going for Rise of the Phoenix instead of Improved Recovery. IR is cheaper on AP. Also...is there any way to fit in the Halfling sneak attack enhancement? That adds very nice damage when things are stunned and the ShinIII has a multitude of stuns at their disposal.

Thanks for the feedback , I am not sure Shinto gets backstab , I thought that was Dark.

When mob is stunned, you get sneak attack damage from items (or Half elf: Rogue Dilitante).

Cleave should rarely be taken on a monk and I see no reason to take it on this build. Also you don't have Shintao Monk 3 enhancement and no grandmaster stance. As a halfling it probably makes sense to go Ultimate Wind stance. These changes mean you'll have to sacrifice other enhancements. I'd get rid of void IV as it is too costly a line. Others would disagree with me. Instead max wind for dps and then one other stance depending on your play style (maybe Water as you are maxing out Wisdom on level ups). Do take Void 1 though so you can use void-light-void which is helpful sometimes.

I agree with the previous poster that you should dump Rise of the Phoenix and max out improved recovery. Its cheaper and there are rare instances where you'll wish you had Phoenix. I ran with it for about 6 months and used it twice. Of course both times it saved the party from a wipe. So many people can raise dead these days that its value is diminished. The other enhancements in the Phoenix line can be obtained from pots.

Last you might consider dropping the animal paths all together. Use the action points on improved recovery, maxing out stances, or Monk Wisdom II.

Keep in mind that right now a DC of 47 is adequate to stun mobs unless playing Epic Elite. You do get a bonus to AC which is nice, but beyond that its benefit is questionable.

Cleave is one i always take on monks - a handy AoE attack for 2 or more enemies, gathers a bunch of ki quickly & now does +1[w] damage so if you're up against more than 1 opponent IMO its almost always worth it now - it might even be worth ditching the 2nd toughness for great cleave which adds +2[w] too, though i havent yet experimented with it yet to confirm.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

Personal preference, ditch the void strike line entirely. I feel it just costs way too much to try and get it, especially since you are missing shintao 3. Also, taking precision and power attack is a bit of a waste, as only 1 can be active at a time. There are some other enhancements I personally wouldn't take, but I don't think they necessarily hurt the build either. I would say that you should definitely focus on 1 main stance, and then maybe have another stance if really feel like you need it.

Cleave is one of the Pre for Shin. The other is luck of heroes which has far less value than cleave on a monk due to the fact that they have fantastic saves as it is.

I'd go with a high Wis build myself. Quivering Palm / stunning fist and all the shintao monks special attacks are based on the wis mod.
