    Hi,

Signed, mainly because I'm worried about my toons' chances of hitting being reduced.

People can and do play and build around the current system's problems. I think what we are moving to may well be worse.

    Thanks.

not signed, asking for them to change a build 3 days before launch (12 ish hours by the time I'm writing but lets go by the op's post date) would be such a disaster if they actually listened that the idea of it put tears in my eyes. Trying to pull out central changes in 3 days would make the walls are now windows bug look like such a small bug that it should never have been fixed because it wasn't worth it. It's going live unless all the servers are struck by meteors tonight in an act of god.

Happy to see AC become relevant for everyone instead of just the min/maxers.

Perhaps we are stepping away from D&D, and that might be why it is called DDO instead of D&D. Majority of the people agree that the D20 AC system is flawed and this is the Dev's answer.

Like it or not, this petition will have no effect because it has already been decided that they will roll out the new package. Closed beta was out in May, Open Beta in June. Calling for a petition just before an update will prevent nothing from happening.
Errm why do you say majority of people agree tgat d20 ac system is flawed? I believe what you mean is most people agree on THE CURRENT d20 ac system being flawed. Huge difference. Add attack chains (which shoulda been in game from start). Make dodge items NOT stack (the way it should be). Done - would work very well and has been proposed by me and many others for years. A godlike mob will still hit a lvl 2 toon 19/20 and a lvl 20 character will still hit kobolds and gnolls 19/20. I don't mind this, in fact it makes sense to me.

I do agree though that even though we've suggested many different ac changes the last few years, this petition will not change anything since the devs took their own proposed solution and ran with it despite quite a few pointing out huge flaws with it. Hey maybe it will work out great, people will of course adapt etc. That doesn't change the fact that many other ways of fixing AC would have been better/had less unexpected effects.

    Fear and greed.

    We get:
AC that works throughout the whole game now!
PRR added to DR for mitigating what damage gets through.
Better To-Hit chances against practically every monster in the game
More flexibility in making new builds and less breakage in screwing them up

    We lose:
Bonuses, feats, etc don't have the same value as before (however we start at a higher base amount before that is added)
Inability to attain 95% avoidance (90% is highest at low level probably going down to about 80% at max depending on how high mob attack bonus is now (adjusted in Beta), and by this I mean Bosses. Anything besides this should still get up to 90%.

    Summary:

We really don't lose much despite what the naysayers say. However if you were in that sweet spot before now you can understand why they would be complaining. Hard not to lose something when you already have everything.

New System looks really good, actually better then i expected. Will it be great out of the box? Na Turbine likes its patches... they will get there eventually.

One player on Argonessen summed the OP up well:

Player 1: What don't people like about u15 combat system?

    Player 2: Changes...

    Suck it up and enjoy

    So very true.

I will, I won't, and I'll have no part of mediocrity, thanks much. Now instead of game-breaking builds, excellence will be defined by player skill. As it should be.
