So, my 1000th post..
Where did the time go?
What to talk about?
Maybe i'll talk simply on how I got to this point.
My first posts were fairly forgettable, as most new forum posters are, asking advice on builds, or laughing at some of the wikkid comedy we see a lot on the forums. I did a lot of lurking back then.
I remember my first real milestone, arguing for a Fortification bypass for rogues (that we eventually received) long and emotion filled posts describing the plight of the newbie rogue.
I do remember other milestones like setting out a decent Favor running system so that more people could appreciate the free-to-play aspect of this game that many quitters seem to forget.
One of my favorite Threads was "Guerrilla warfare 101" where I did little but compile through many stealth style tactics already discovered and posted about by legends in the field. My goal simply to have it all sitting in a neat package for the stealthy inclined.
I once set up a thread (after the old thread leader went awol) to get together with some really amazing Aussies in a static stealth only group, one of my favorite static groups by far, so many challenges and good feelings after a mission.
I petitioned against the Artificers getting soo many front-loaded bonus feats, or their overshadowing of the only-newly-polished Repeater rogue builds.
I got flamed for my position on removing the "weighted dice" from spells after playing some casters awhile and seeing how powerful they had become.
I ranted and raged about this last update removing the difference between casters and melee classes in combat.
I even recently set up a controversial thread on Boycotting the combat system changes so that the unheard masses had a point to group around, maybe it will actually change things for the better but time will tell.
I have never stepped away from a fight I believed in, or backed away from fearful foes. I tell it how I see it, for good or bad. I respect openness and honesty in others and abhor deceitful people or those considering only their own needs rather than what is fair for all.
I'm usually an easy going person that prefers groups and pugging to going solo, and am not really what you would call a leader or role-model. Though I did try and succeeded in having the first awesome guild on the new Wayfinder server, meeting fantastic people from all servers of DDO that wanted a real challenge, and picking up tricks along the way from every pug.
So if I ever met you in a group, or on the forums, thank you for the adventure.
Hopefully we will all be around a while yet and meet up if I haven't met you yet.
