Turbine Launcher keeps redownloading patches

Once you do that then in the same folder find "TurbineInvoker"** (or "TurbineLauncher if on XP)** and when you find it right-click it and choose "Run as Administrator" as well. (XP Users: Just use "TurbineLauncher" and double-click it.)

(** NOTE: Invoker/Launcher will list as an "application" and will have the DDO red "shield" for an icon, the one that has no icon that says "TurbineInvoker.exe" OR "TurbineLauncher.exe" are actually .exe.config files not the executable files.)

I have also contracted this issue....it makes us all feel kind of dirty that we have the same bug

I went as far last night as to do a full clean install of both OS and Turbine. Still same issues this morning once all back up and running. Will try the admin fix when i get off work. Tried last night before I lost my mind and did nothing for me but will try with clean installs tonight. I always clean install on major updates and was planning to do so when the new expansion releases. Just had to do it a little early for no good reason.

mine seems fixed what ever it was it seems to be on there side but mine hasnt done it this morning so seems fixed

So we checked into this, and did some tweaks so it should no longer happen , but if you're still seeing it make sure that you close out the game launcher and reboot the computer (just to be sure) and let me know after that.

STILL same issue. But now my main launcher is also doing this "download/update/restart launcher/Red X/error message. After it cycles a couple times it finally comes to my login page.
Lamannia Launcher is unchanged. Very same actions, very same results as before. Endless looping...

With approx 10 launches performed I can confirm I no longer experience the issue - thanks for fixing things your end Mirthgar.

Just powered up and launched Lamannia launcher in the hopes to be able to join final fun in Lam land. Sadly still the same issue and same de-serialize error...
I'll be uninstalling Preview game completly and just download a fresh one come next update. That will likely fix it. The LONG and painful way!

I've done this and it still doesn't work. I've Unistalled and reinstalled and I still have the same issue. I put a ticket on Thursday night and I've gotten no reply yet.

Any other suggestions?

Given others are reporting success with the live server launcher now and as this is your first post in the thread Treestrider - what are your symptoms or error message(s)?
Have you performed all of Mirthgar's suggestions/checks in this thread? perhaps you could post your launcher log for reference too?

While I have only posted once in this thread I have been following it since Wedensday. I tried following the instructions for finding my log files but this is all I find WinXP - C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Turbine\ within the turbine folder there is only 1 file; PatchClient.txt

I tried all of Mithgar's other suggestions and none worked. If it matters I'm on a windows XP Prof machine. I have reinstalled twice including last night and still can't get in. I get to the log in screen (sometimes I go through the loading 11/11 files several times and sometimes I don't) enter my info, then the laucher goes to server choice screen and promptly locks up. I installed the game on my daughters crappy laptop last night and it works on her machine (windows7). I'm wondering if the fix only works for Windows7. I've seen several people post here that it works and many that says it doesn't. None seem to indicate what their operating system is.

Treestrider, as far as I can tell, your most major issue is that you freeze. As far as I recall, those fixes from Mirthgar were for the 11/11 download "loop". Your freezing is an entirely different issue and should be dealt with that way.

Perhaps it would be helpful to create a new message thread for the freezing problem?

In the meantime, please be sure that your firewall and security software are all allowing the launcher to access the net (Its either Turbinelauncher.exe or Turbineinvoker.exe.)

Also, have you tried running the launcher in "compact" mode? (The double downarrow in the upper right corner will do this) and does that "unstick" it?

There are more things to check but regrettably I must go pay for my DDO playtime so can't think about it more right now, I am sure many others in this forum can help with this.

I appreciate your help on this. I checked out the article and it appears that this is my problem, unfortunetly nothing I tried helped. I checked my norton and windows firewall settings, made sure they both had ddo as a trusted application. When that didn't work I turned them all off and then tried to login, still getting locked up. I've used to the mini launcher to no avail as well. I finally did find my log files and I deleted my LauncherUserSetting file (as per the article) and that also failed to work.
