As always I missed the brightly highlighted post by Tolero telling to me revert the temp fix back before my ISP updated.
Am I out of luck?
It is now 10:14 pm cst and I am getting the wall of error script on the launcher again......sigh...

If you did the work around and it worked at first and it doesn't now it probably means your ISP caught up with the changes. If you delete the lines you added to your host file it should work for you again.
