Bunch of expansion question

DISCLAIMER 2: my search-fu is kinda weak, if something i ask is already discussed in a thread please point me to it, apologies in advance.

So, MotU is about to get on the live servers and i've got a few questions for those of you that are testing things on Lammaland (for that you have my thanks):

- Amaunator? REALLY?!? Oh please ... so we get to FR before the Dawn Cataclysm? Yeah? No? ... Is it post Spellplague then? Hope not ...

- Skills: soooo how are skill points in epic levels being given right now? 2+int? Flat +1 to all previous class skills?

- Feats: found this http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=376823 , any other feat or that's the complete list?

- Spell power: kinda confused by all the rumor mongering, why i heard speaking of this as a nerf? Nerf to Potency? Or nerf in general to spell damage? The possibility to stack 50% item + 75% clicky +25% eardwelller + x% implement +100% maximize +75% empower +x% enhancements doesn't sound like a nerf to me, maybe items and feats/enhancements don't stack anymore?

- Did +5 tomes make their appearance yet?

- How many Epic xps is the new 25 level cap? How many epic xps are required to cap a destiny?

Skills: Last I heard, ALL skills get +1 per Epic Level (up to +5 at Level 25). Some Destinies may add more to certain skills.

Spell Power is being call a Nerf mainly because they changed Maximize and Empower to not multiply with other multipliers, instead they add a fixed spell power amount.

No +5 tomes yet as far as I know.

Epic XP has not been finalized yet, from what I understand.

Note that I could be wrong or mistaken on any of these.

I'm a happy camper for the skill bonus and now that i think about it (no math done) i can see why people is not fond of the spell power change.

+1 to all skills per lvl, granted as a "epic skills" feat.

It is as of the last beta patch.

It's absolutely not a nerf. The rumor mongering is done by those rather bad at math. It increases spell damage in pretty much every case.

Only the most extremely maxxed out case of heavy eardweller use is roughyl 10% damage lost because the eardweller itself was nerfed, and it can be almost immediately regained at lvl21.

No

Knowing this wont help you much, since you dont know how much more XP epic quests give. Justk now epic qesting gives a lot more then heroic, so whatever figures you may learn may seem high, but in reality leveling is quite fast.

Post spellplague from what I can figure as you go to an abandoned temple to mystra who is mentioned in npc text in the past tense.

So, I am normally rather skeptical of Shade's posts myself, but I have read more than a few of his where he has talked about his experience playing casters. Also, just because someone is known for playing one class on the forums, doesn't mean they don't play other classes, or have at least a basic understanding of their mechanics.

It's also really easy to see at least some of his characters notice the third life caster played as recently as 2 days ago at least.

All current in game info shows that its after the Spellplague. Might be before the Cataclysm, too little info so far though. Hopefully Ellminster and Lolths messages in the wildernesses will tell us more when they are finished.

As Charononus pointed out Mystra appears to be dead and her temples are crumbling in DDO.

The Menace of the Underdark is part of Wizards of the Coast's overarching Rise of the Underdark D&D event running through D&D Pen and Paper and other media currently.

Rise of the Underdark is telling the story of Lolth's attempt to replace Mystra as goddess of Magic. Probably why Lolth is after the thread of the Weave in DDO.

I haven't been able to find a Forgotten Realms date yet for this though so no clue as to what year its set. The Rise of Underdark novels might give a date but I don't have them.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Yep i saw all the ads about the Rise of the Underdark campaign on WotC site but i still had hope that someone somewhere high up in the ranks felt like me about the Spellplague (as in "wt* is this s**t?!?!").

Mixed feelings about the Spell Power change, will need to do the math to come to conclusions but it seems that the main problem here lies with someone that always run with metas active (like savants).

Anyway, please don't turn this thread in a Shade vs All style of thread, the forums are full of them go annoy someone else, thanks.
